And homosexuality destroys yet another community. I hope they're happy now.

I believe it's their intent.

"And homosexuality destroys yet another community. I hope they're happy now."

That has been their aim all this time! Destroy any Christian institution and gayism will flourish! Look at what the ACLU has accomplished so far! We CAN NOT let this evil demonic institution dictate an atheistic country to us! And so far the ACLU is doing a bang up job winning scores of cases against Christians left and right...SHAMEFUL!

Fascinating! My mother came from a long line of Episcopalians but went to Notre Dame (the girl's school in Baltimore, not the home of the Fighting Irish) and wanted to convert most of her life. About 2 years before she passed away from cancer she finally did. Her brother and sister threw fits worthy of the Thirty Years War.

The Church has endured more persecution than this in the past, and will overcome the ACLU as it has all other challenges.

Make no mistake about it, the destruction of the church is indeed the agenda of the Gay activists... This "Bishop" may not personally desire this, but he's a pawn being used by those who do, and he should be ashamed of himself for putting his own desires above the good of the church.

BRUPapa and I were just discussing those very verses regarding Robinson's blasphemous claim that Jesus was gay.

Robinson abandoned his family to live with his gay lover. Had his lover been a woman, church leaders would've been up in arms about such behavior and there is no way he would've been made a Bishop. The problem is, is that Griswold, the so-called Presiding Bishop, came into office with an agenda for promoting the gay lifestyle and Robinson was a convenient instrument of that agenda.

The blame for this lies not only with Griswold, who appointed a gay Bishop, but those Bishops who elected Griswold. His agenda was well known prior to his becoming Presiding Bishop.

It sounds like this church began closing the day Pastor Sodomite was "annointed" by those who should have known better.

LOL -very true!

In my Diocese, they are elected by the convention, with each parish in the Diocese sending representatives who vote for the Bishop. Members of the clergy also vote, but they are only about 20% of votes cast. The field of candidates is winnowed until somebody gets a majority of votes cast. Not direct democracy, but something pretty close. The Bishop cannot be elected without the support of a fairly large number of the representatives of the congregations.

The fact of the matter is that a majority of congregations in NH supported Robinson. Was the vote even close?

I was going to add to my post that the majority of NH Episcopalians support Bishop Robinson. Thanks for correcting that oversight.

My Parish sacked the Rector for exactly that - leaving his wife for another woman. A few years later, his Holy Orders were revoked by the ECUSA. He is no longer a Priest, but Robinson becomes a Bishop. Go figure...

"Her brother and sister threw fits worthy of the Thirty Years War."

How do your aunt & uncle feel about Rev. Robinson?

But I thought gays were the wealthiest segment of the population - I guess they have better things to spend their money on...

Crystal Meth?

But the PROPERTY remains that of the Episcopal Church, and all profits from its sale will go to them, along with any artwork, bank accounts, and such.

It's not only a power grab, it is also a property grab. They can close the churches that have conservative congregations and then sell the property.

Well my aunt died some years ago. And my uncle hasn't spoken to me much, which partly has to do with the abridged edition of "Foxe's Book of Martyrs" I told him I was getting him that Christmas, and partly to the fact that he thought I was a useless jerk to start with. ;)
