This is the biggest waste of money I have ever seen!

LOL. Just keep watching these folks at "work." It gets bigger. By the time I reached adulthood, I didn't much like these politicians. Then Brian Lamb did us the immense favor of putting these devils on tv, which I thought at first would be just awful, but then watching them, I came to realize that I was way too kind in my assessment of them.

After the asbesto bill stuff..they are supposed to get to the judicial nominations..but the committee has to adjourn at 2 PM because the Senate meets..so, if I undersatand it correctly..this was Reids way of throwing a little sand intot he senate gearbox..BTW..the vote to recess was 92-0 or something like that..even Reid, who raised the objection, voted to recess..

Oh, okay, I just thought I had heard Lindsay Graham say 98-1 ---I thought he had mentioned 1 nay vote---oh, well, it doesn't matter!

I guess no nominations today----

BTW, I can see that DR. Senator Coburn is gonna be a pain in the Butt to the status quo senators---yippeee, I think he and Sessions and Cornyn might make this a decent group eventually---

Oh, good, Leahy didn't do his homework---I guess his wife didn't tell him what to think---Leahy sure is a gripey ole fool, isn't he?

Listening to Sen. Coburn is so enlightening. He is apparently the only one who cares about the science behind this bill. The others just have insurers and industry on one side and trial lawyers on the other and whatever medical "experts" could be the pawns of the two sides.

I love his line a minute ago when he said that this bill would NOT pay people that should get paid, but would pay people that don't!!!

It must be disheartening to the likes of Kennedy and Leahy to have an actual doctor on the committee that can correct any "misrepresentation" of the facts by THEIR experts---Ha!

100 hours of debates--for appeals court and Supreme court nominees only---

The debate would be on the floor, with all Senators--

Filibuster would stay unchanged re: legislature.

HOping the minority leader will agree to compromise.

Reid up basically calling Frist a liar---saying there have been lots and lots of judges filibustered---

HOw can Reid say lots and Frist say none--there is no middle ground here at all--it is who do you believe?

Just sitting here watching the Senators rant and rave about any and everything that didn't make it into the Budget Resolution---

NOw, Frank Lautenberg is holding up pics that he got from the Pentagon with all of the caskets being taken out of plane---he is hopping mad because the faces of the soldiers that are carrying the caskets are blacked out....

Well, surprise, surprise, Harry Reid is up saying he is against the Budget Resolution!!!

He opposes because it is fiscally irresponsible and it set the wrong spending priorities....hmmm....

Lavish handouts to special interests (military, maybe?)

Mad because it doesn't reduce the deficits enough(now he will tell us what programs weren't funded well enough)

He is saying we are gonna have a 2 trillion dollar surplus in Social Security, but we won't keep it in lock box, we will spend it....he he heeeee

60% cut in Pell grants (I knew it was coming, see above)

cuts fire fighting spending

not enough health care

uh, oh, millionaires getting tax cuts,, tsk, tsk, tsk

large slush fund for HMOs??????

RX too expensive...

Searchlight again--these are not the priorities of people like in Searchlight--they want govt. to look out for their health costs, good education, doesn't address their NEEDS, borrowing from China, Japan, not good for Searchlight residents....

Religion, now---Episcopal Church wrote him a letter saying the priorities in this Budget is for the rich man but not the little Lazuras, hungry, poor, should care for global community, must be a partner instead of asking working poor to pay for everything---global aids, infuse the government with values like man that walked the Earth almost 2000 years ago....also United Methodist Church signed letter...

Urges rejection---

Frist up--

talking about some judicial nomination votes (non controversial ones)--- oopsy, Reid objects and wants to talk for a few minutes before the cloture vote on Johnson vote.

Frist giving congratulations to Sen. Gregg for good first years as Budget Chairman---

Voting on the Budget now---

Will vote on one nominee tonight and cloture on Johnson tonight---WOW and it is 10:40 here in Texas...

I switched over to CSPAN2 tonight right in the middle of Rep Louie Gohmert going down a list of countries (UN memebers I think), giving the amount of $$$$$ we give them, then the percentage of times that they vote with us. Would anybody have any ideas about where I might be able to find that list?

Well, Voinivich just voted against the Budget Resolution and of course none of the dems will vote for it!!!

What had happened to Voinivich?

Yeas are 52--Nays are 47 Budget resolutions passes....

Cloture vote for Johnson...

If cloture is invoked it will be the last vote of the evening...if not, there will be two other votes, Portman and some underlying vote.

Sen. Allen up giving speech about Sen. Warner....tonight Warner passes Carter Glass, to be second behind Sen. Byrd in length of service in Senate...

Senator Warner up to object to the nice things Allen is saying....applause.....sniff, sniff

EPA Administrator--Johnson cloture vote---

Uh, oh, Sen. Voinivich has lost his temper and is yelling on the Senate floor that the EPA needs an administrator!!!

This is not good--he shouldn't be losing his temper like that---shame on him.

Taking Cloture vote now....

Sen.Clinton just voted no on cloture for the EPA Administrator---I guess he probably isn't as excited as she is to be using tires to burn as fuel in New York....

You know what is fun during these votes---picking out one Senator and just watch them interact with the other Senators,---I picked out Salazar this vote and he walks up to Levin and shakes his hand, Nelson and shakes his hand, goes over and looks at table with amendments...now he is just wandering in circles...

Oh Clinton and Kerry having a conversation---not long, she walks away from him....sigh...

Sens. Warner, Dodd, Allen in kinda of a group back pat thingy---I don't know about that ..

Vote 61-37

Voice vote ayes have it--although over theTV we couldn't hear anybody saying yes.

Portman--US. Trade Representative---Sen. Lincoln up in disappointment ---debate needs to happen tonight because of relations with Saudi Arabia--sure Portman will get job...

Upset about Saudi Arabias ascension to the WTO---because of Saudi Arabia's boycott of Israel and SA terrorists activities---and SA's treatment of women and children...

I am tired and Sen. Lincoln has an HOUR to speak... so I am oughta here....
