I do not agree with Cheney. We the people of the USA must stand tall if we want human rights. We must fight against evils denying our citizens even the most basic of human rights, the right to live. We are trying to tell other nations that they should improve on human rights when our nation, with it's corrupt judges, has now sunk to the lowest of the low.

Let's hold fire on Cheney until we get the whole story. I heard that he said, when asked if he agreed with "retribution" as DeLay had laid out, that he said he hadn't yet read Delays statement but that he didn't believe in retribution.
It was a typical 'trap' question. DeLay never mentioned "retribution" - but they phrased the question disingenuously, with malice aforethought, to get a quote they could misrepresent to nail Cheney with.
If he had "yes" - well, top headlines. If he said "No" against what he was told DeLay said about "retribution" - top headlines. Either way, they get to slam Cheney,
These trap questions are par for the course with the lib reporters and Cheney is usually to smart to get sucker punched. But he did in the instance.
But did we also get suckered in our knee jerk rush to believe and convict Cheney before we had the facts to weigh - do we still swallow the MSM without a grain of salt

"Vice President Cheney says he opposes revenge against judges for their refusal to prolong the life of the late Terri Schiavo, although he did not criticize House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) for declaring that they will "answer for their behavior." Of course he does. His feelings would be entirely different, if it were his daughter.

Retribution is not exactly what we are looking for. We don't want to punish the judges or get even, we just want their decision making process exposed to a full inquiry.

It'll probably take 20 years to kill Scott Peterson but it only took 15 years to kill Terrri.

They didn't refuse to prolong Terri's life. She wasn't dying, until they killed her.

It sickens me when I hear such lame brained answers from people who should know better.
Damn.

Mel Gibson had it right: "These people are completely transparent to me now." The two Bushes, Cheney--they are far too privileged and invested in "the system" to risk rocking the boat. They value "the system"--by which I do NOT mean the U.S. Constitution, but the actual, functioning system in which they have POWER--to do anything that upsets the power and money elites.
Joe Sobran's aphorism is more true now than ever, in light of the murder of Terri Schiavo by Jeb Bush and George Bush: "The U.S. Constitution poses no threat to our current form of government."

Mr. Vice President. You are a terrific part of an outstanding administration, possibly the best ever in my opinion. I disagree with you on this issue.

Well, the last election revealed to me that Cheney is, unfortunately, part of the problem on cultural issues.

The judge who decided that Terri's life support be removed should only be punished if it can be proven that he violated any existing law or legal precedent in coming into this legal decision. A congressional investigation on this matter is not bad at all if only to ascertain that the judge acted within the confines of law in his decision in Terri's case.
However, if it can be proven that the judge acted within his own legal powers to decide the case at hand, then he should not be prosecuted.
I fully concur with Vice-President Cheney's view that the judge should not be prosecuted if he acted within the confines of the law although a congressional investigation on this matter is not a bad idea if the investigation is meant to assist legislators in remedying the law.

Cheney's no conservative.
He can be brainy, articulate, strategic. Fine. Wonderful. Just wonderful.
But at the end of the day, if he had no 'heart', it doesn't amount to a hill of beans, and as a public official accountable on moral issues and to God to Whom he swore an almighty oath, he'll have some explaining to do. Sad.

Now the Haters can attack Cheney. Let's see time to throw George, Jeb and Dick under the bus. Not fanatical enough.
