POINT OF CORRECTION: I know several Terri-supporters have said they thought they read that Terri was getting rehab help learning to walk using parallel bars, but I am not finding anything like that in the records.

If anyone finds PROOF this was true, please enlighten us all here...

The point is not that Terri was getting all the SAME therapy as the firefighter, Donald Herbert, but merely that they were BOTH somewhat responsive, and both BETTER than PVS... ("Minimally Conscious" it is called).

There DOES seems to be a decent outline of what her rehab was accomplishing in 1990 and 1991, (Note the bottom half of this article at the TEJ). It involved range of motion exercises, and just getting Terri to RESPOND to anything, smells, sounds, voices, photos, and things like opening her eyes or lifting her legs or arms on command.

These records showed Terri was slowly but clearly getting better, but then Michael cut her rehab to once a week, and then as soon as he got her rehabilitation money, he cut off ALL rehab treatments.

It was in one of these rehab-facilities, Mediplex, where her doctor wrote in her charts, Terri occasionally says "STOP" during procedures.

The Empire Journal article is a great read. Terri's level of response is way beyond anything that would be considered PVS, imo. Over and over again, there are reports of obvious responses from Terri. According to MS, Terri was even able to sit in a chair and hold her head up. I've read these early reports before and was shocked by the reported improvements, that were ignored by the court and then later from the MSM, during the time of Terri's killing/murder.

I get so angry when I think of how Michael Schiavo discontinued Terri's therapy. There's no doubt in my mind that she would have regained much of her functions, had she had the treatment/therapy that she deserved. Outrageous. Please note - I witnessed my own Sister-in-law's recovery from a worse condition than Terri's.

Also, did you notice the reference to Terri's knees being swollen, in Feb of 1991? Would the swelling have been a result of someone breaking her knees? Swelling is a sympton of broken bones. Last year, I broke 4 bones on the top of my foot and it swelled up like a watermelon. Only God knows what happened to Terri during all those 15 years, when Michael Schiavo had free access to her. What a horrible tragedy and travesity of justice.

OK, I finally found it...

Our Freeper-friends were NOT mistaken about hearing or reading that Terri was at one time getting WALKING THERAPY. Apparently, Terri's medical records show that Terri HAD once been using "parallel bars" with assistance, just like the firefighter Donald Herbert...

One such report for example, came from a doctor who had examined Terri personally for TEN HOURS, plus he reviewed MOST IF NOT ALL OF HER EARLY MEDICAL RECORDS, and told this to Sean Hannity:

"This woman went from, right before a malpractice settlement check was given to him, she went from walking with parallel bars and assistance, having physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, speaking some words... to the state we see her now in the videotapes."
