Once they are reported what happens? Do they actually get sent back, because I can imagine if you traveled for miles and get stopped at a certain section of the border you might travel sideways for a while till you hit an empty spot and then cross over.
The most optimistic figure given is that the USBS only catches 20% of crossers on a given attempt. So two attempts means a 96% chance of successfully evading the USBP, and if you are one of the double-unlucky 4%, a third attempt brings your chances to over 99%.
In reality, all the USBP does in delay and inconvenience border crossers by a day or two. That's why they don't mind being caught if they are too tired or thirsty. They know they can try again in a few hours, after the USBS drops them back off at the nearest border crossing after a meal and a shady rest.
The Border Patrol rank and file call this insanity the "catch and release" program.
Everybody makes it, they don't go home to Chiapas. They just make it on their first, second or third try. That's all the USBP is doing: delaying their journey, feeding them, giving them medical treatment, and a rest.

The worthless scum, the worthless white Spanish racist elite that runs Mexico sure showed their true nature on this one. They've railing against the minutemen for weeks with the most incendiary propaganda. All designed to stir up their brown skinned serfs and divert attention from their misrule of Mexico.
All this illegal immigration takes the pressure off the Mexican government to run Mexico more equitably.
The real test is going to come when some of these volunteers happen across illegal drug shipments with trigger-happy gangsters who are armed to the teeth and willing to shoot private citizens rather than allowing some volunteer border watchers to just go tip off the law. The drug dealers will be expecting an incident like this to happen sooner or later and you can bet yer booty they'll be the ones to shoot first. If they think they can get away by sinking some lead into a few volunteer types then you know they will. I don't want to be around when that goes down.
