Oh, surely this can't be true. Not in a CNN poll.

68 percent of the respondents in the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll said [homosexual marriage] should not [be recognized by law]."

Since this is a Communist Nonsense Network poll, the numbers are probably skewed at least 5 to 10 percent in favor of the leftist view. That means that America has overwhelmingly rejected homo marriage. Any other claim comes from the Land of Denial.

What a Brainfart! After every state that puts this issue on the ballot in the past 4 years, the ACTUAL VOTES are always 70-30(give or take 5%). CNN just NOW saw a trend?

Something else for the Democrats to play down.

When are they going to say actually what they really stand for?

Nice numbers for now--a snapshot in time. But the other side is going to keep pressing on; what else do they have to do? We need to get a constitutional amendment passed and even then not let our guard down!

Part of this is reaction to the aggressive in-your-face activity of the missionaries for Gaydom.

Why is it that if a person wants to find conservative magazines at Borders, you often can't find a conservative mag other than "American Conservative", Buchanan's substandard fringe mag? But you can find "gay-life-style" magazines row on row, rank on rank. I intentionally don't buy books from Borders for this reason.

go back and check the states where gay "marriage" was on the ballot in November 2004 and check the vote margins. Overwhelming rejection

The same sex marriage ban has passed overwhelmingly every where it has been on the ballot.

They did a poll on what they already knew.

More like reporting a high number so in a few months when they do a "fake" poll they can show a dramatic swing in the favor of gay marriage. It's all in the sampling.

Public opposition to "marriages" between homosexuals is at an all-time high, according to a poll released yesterday. When asked whether they thought same-sex "marriages" should be recognized by the law as valid and come with the same rights as traditional marriages, 68 percent of the respondents in the CNN/USA

Not to put too fine a point on it, but there is a difference between gay marriage and same-sex marriage. Gays have always been able to get married, just not to members of the same sex. Likewise, it's always been illegal for gays or straights to marry members of the same sex.

Seems like a silly point but it takes away the argument that gays are suffering discrimination under traditional marriage laws - they aren't; the laws apply to them in exactly the same was as to straights.

And I think major media realize this too, which is why I believe they consistently use the terms "gay marriage" and "same-sex marriage" interchangeably.

I also think you point raises the possibility that they do not want the public to realize that defense of marriage amendments also prohibit other forms of marriage.

It is also telling that it appears all the pending amendments for 2006 also include no civil union (marriage lite) language.

For the homosexuals and the MSM it is now all about looking for "magic words" which will twist perception. Some harvard feminist types want to now use the term "non-samesex marrige" to describe normal marriage. The point being to pervert the default of what is normal.

The homosexuals are also now trying to stop the use of "alternative lifestyle" too.

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

Happy day, whoop de doo. Well, it looks as though the more homosexuals and their running dogs push for "gay" marriage, the more us knuckle draggers resent it.

I like good news.

Let DirtyHarryY2K and me know if you want on/off this pinglist.

I bet it's really more than 68% who are against two men/two women marrying. They just wanted to be polite to the questioners.

Oh, you mean fake-trending? Naw, the left would never resort to such duplicity to push its agenda. That would be dishonest.

If a left wing poll done by CNN/USA shows this result, one can only wonder how high the actual % is against Gay Marriage.

In some of the states where the people spoke in November, one was 83% for protecting marriage and another was about the same. Missouri and Tennessee?

Even OREGON was 58% for.
