Pope Is Dead - Vatican
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son, Our Lord, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. On the third day, he rose again. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

May we, who were blessed by his presence, learn from his steadfastness in the face of evil. God love him. A truly holy man.

Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song. Pope John Paul II

Deus, qui inter summus sacerdotes famulum tuum Joannem Paulum ineffabili tua dispositione connumerari voluisti: praesta, quaesumus, ut, qui Unigeniti Filii tui vices in terris gerebat, sanctorum tuorom Pontificum consortio perpetuo aggregetur.
O God, who in Thine ineffable providence wast pleased to number Thy servant John Paul amongst the sovereign pontiffs; grant, we beseech thee, that he who reigned as the vicar of Thy Son on earth, may be joined in fellowship with Thy holy pontiffs forevermore.

Of course, and we will know God is still merciful if He sends us a new Pope who is half the leader by consistent, loving example that John Paul the Great was.
We must have someone who holds the line against the insanity that threatens on all sides.

I think what I will always remember about the Pope is the way he patched things up between Peter Griffin and his dad. The Pope was a great guy.

Did Amanpour just say John Paull II was the first "non-Cathlic" elected Pope? She did, and she didn't realize her error either. She meant to say non-Italian, as the rest of her otherwise reasonable description referred.
And she would have been incorrect about that too.
This was the first non-Italian in close to 500 years, but there was at least one French Pope.

Thank you for sharing the wonderful photo.
I wonder what the Pope is saying to God, there is a direct
communication, that shows in the picture.
