rest in peace
I've always liked that picture.
I am not a Catholic, and I suppose I should be happy for John Paul II - he's gone home.
Still I'm tearful and sad. He was a great man who held the courage of his convictions and was a great role model.
Godspeed.
Pope JPII, I am sure is getting a cyber shock from us as he flies the skies!
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son, Our Lord, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. On the third day, he rose again. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
are there miracles?
< "How blessed that he was lifted up to God with the prayers of all those dear people in the square." >

Young Italians wearing yellow bandanas carried a barrier reading: "You called us and so we are here" as they made their way towards the piazza.
.........
Papal spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls said on Saturday morning that the Pope had tried to speak a few words in the early hours of the day, and had been made aware of the thousands of young people who had gathered to pray for him.
"In fact, he seemed to be referring to them when... he seemed to have said the following sentence: 'I have looked for you. Now you have come to me. And I thank you'," the spokesman said.
LOL. My error.
My mind is not clear right now.
Y'all having a 5:00PM Mass?
yeah, you are right
Why not just the best spiritual Papa that God can provide us?
The pope was truly one of the greatest leaders of the past century. Thank you for everything that you've accomplished here. You will be missed. Rest in peace.

It's ok. Don't be upset or disturbed by that comment. I'm sure it was not meant in a bad way. Pope John Paul II was a man. A very great and humble man who would proclaim himself that he was a sinner, just like all other men.
May the angels in heaven carry him straight into God's loving arms.
I think so.
My heart is breaking, yet I'm so happy for him that his suffering has ended.
Oh, death, where is thy sting?
Oh grave, where is thy victory?
Rest in peace, Pope John Paul II.
Leni
Prayers to all who will miss him.
Amen.
The seat of Peter is now vacant. May we not have to wait too much longer for it to be happily filled once again.
Sorry, I don't know how to say that in Latin. Any suggestions?
Not at all disrespectful. We may forgive so easily, but His Holiness had a great sense of humour which flowed from a true sense of joy and happiness.
