TM129: **If someone cannot chew or swallow their food, AND they cannot respond to queries (inactive brain), should society or individuals consider it a responsibility to unnaturally feed the person via a gastric feeding tube?**
NN: Ummmnnhh...NOBODY on this thread has suggested "...unwarranted extreme burdens..." or "...unnaturally extending life..."
So just exactly what are you trying to say?
I am suggesting that a feeding tube unnaturally extends life beyond God's purposes in a body that He has allowed to begin shutting down (the body can no longer chew or swallow food).
Whose body was God "shutting down"?
Certainly not Terri's. Even Michael testified Terri could live for decades.
If Terri's body was shutting down, why did Greer, Felos and Michael need to starve her in order to kill her?
Your suggestion that the inability to chew/swallow is a defined part of the "shutting down" process in every case (and the implication that there is a defined and short timeline) is a logical fallacy.
Did it ever occur to you that sticking a sharp object into a body and injecting, say, penicillin, is an un-natural act?
