Excellent essay Bob - I was thinking the same thing....
It is a very controversial situation, and even though I'm pro-life - I would not want to live like that - however, since there was no concrete evidence of Terri's wishes, of course one should side on the side of life, especially since her parents wanted to take care of her.
In any event, I want to express my outrage at the Berger slap on the wrist? WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?????
The Clinton's garbage and stench remains even after they've been gone so long....
Convenient isn't it that that "slap on the wrist" Berger news comes out right during all this Terri turmoil and on the day of all the sad news of the Pope. There is nearly no news of the "punishment" of Berger. That "punishment" is an outrage. A misdemeanor?
This one bit of news (Berger non-news) should show how troubled our government has become. Seeing Berger make his speech about making "an honest mistake" nearly made me puke!
And as an old Army Security Agency guy, seeing him get his government clearance back in three years is a disgusting joke. The guy should never get it back, and he should have spent at least 10-15 years in jail.
Think of what he actually did...... and to top it off, during the investigation of 9/11. Disgusting.
Yes. It stinks.
When I heard about the outcome I thought for sure I had heard it wrong! The ordinary man or woman off the street would be in jail for YEARS.
The deal is not done yet. He is supposed to cooperate (has been cooperating?) and if he doesn't the deal will be off.
I was one who for months posited that he was being pressured to cooperate when others would post about how Berger was not being pursued. I was right about my first point, I don't see why I wouldn't be right now.
