The mood in the COUNTRY has taken a turn for the worse, Hood. Don't expect it to be different here. The specter of the... nazi (dammit I can't think of a better word) is looming over us and you people that think it's not had better think again and look around you. Try talking to a liberal, if you haven't in a while, and you will see, you will see.

This has become the right's version of the DU. Only certain topics and certain people. In general, the site's just fine, IMHO.

My family actually had a few anthologies that were put together after Breathed had initially retired.
In fact, we may still have one floating around the house, now that I think it about it.
It's interesting to examine the natural progression, from Bloom County to Outland.
Kind of like watching the elevation of neolithic cave art.

So you've discovered we have our own moonbats in the GOP. Guess what? They're not as influental as they (or you) think they are. Stick around, ping me if you need back up. There are more battles to fight.

Dude, I don't know you, but it sure sounds like you're cutting and running. Yes politics is a rough game; yes, not everyone agrees with you; yes, sometimes people say overheated things.
Other than that, what's your point?
Oops, sorry, you've already run.

All I want is a level playing field. These illegals get special treatment and don't have to play by the rules.

Wel, I am sorry to see you leave. As I have told you before, this site gets hit with waves of nuttiness from time to time...going all the way back to the 2000 Republican primaries.
My personal decision is to go find something productive to do. A few people may have noticed that I haven't posted as much lately. I don't care for the shrillness and insults, either. I think it will give fodder to those who call us extremists for a very long time.
However, I have never found another site which gets as much discussion and information up in such a quick way. I also know that this site is read by the media (which is why I find the venom about the Terri Schiavo case, from BOTH sides, so discouraging).
I choose to stay and post my opinions when I think I can contribute.
hchutch, I hate to see you leave. I learned so much about younger people's ideas on culture and self-sufficiency from reading your posts. You were a good Freeper. Go with God.

You are right about the modern-day Nazis.
The fewer of them around here, the better.

Not only that, but if more Conservatives leave the Republican party, that will give the DEMS/LIBS are free ride to elections, and may give Hillary a free pass to the White House. Then maybe, just maybe, said Republicans should think long and hard about that before they open their mouths or cast their votes.

Really? Seriously, I think FR has mellowed out since the end of the election. There was a time when you'd get banned for saying anything, and I my ANYTHING negative about President Bush. It seemed more okay to offer constructive criticism now.
To: hchutch
hchutch,
I can understand your disillusionment, but, the more severe and intense battles against the left/libs/Dems are ahead for us and for the Conservatives, all of us need to unite more than ever.
The Bible says that in order for GOD to make us strong and to endure, he must put us through trials.
Iron workers use the refiners fire to get all the dross out and to " TEMPER " the steel.
GOD uses our trials to get out the dross and to " TEMPER " us ( gives us the character of patience ) , to strengthen us.
God uses trials ( Refiners Fire ) to purge us, to refine us like GOLD.
Proverbs 27:17 " As iron sharpens Iron, so one man sharpens another " .
I hope that you will be ok, take care.

Okay, you've brought up the topic, so I'll reply to you. However, this is to anyone. Is there any way to change your screen name without having to start over in seniority? I think my name is kind of dumb. When I first signed up, I was sort of apolitical and just picked the most conservative sounding name I could think of so you would let me in. Now that I'm a full convert, I'd like to pick something more meaningful. :) I've seen it done. Any thoughts?
