Doctors Complete Schiavo Autopsy

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. - Medical examiners concluded an autopsy on Terri Schiavo on Friday, and prepared to release her remains to family members who continued to fight bitterly over the case of the brain-damaged woman who became the flashpoint for a nationwide debate over right-to-die issues.

"The examination included routine forensic autopsy procedures, supplemented by full post mortem X-rays," the Pinellas County, Fla., medical examiner's office said in a statement. "Terri Schiavo's remains are ready for release to the establishment selected by the legally authorized person, for purposes of final disposition. "

If the medical examiner was on the up and up, he would hold the body for evidence.

Bodies are never "held for evidence." MEs can get everything they need to determine cause of death from pathological exams.

I was under the impression the so called "husband" wanted the autopsy. The autopsy will conclude that she was brain damaged, DON'T WE KNOW THIS ALREADY? WHAT IS THE POINT? Is there no end too this? Does the extent of brain damage mean it is ok too kill some one anyway????

The cause of death will be some form of organ failure. There will be no mention that starvation led to the organ failure. Remember, Felos said that no one starves to death because they are denied hydration and nutrients.

Nope.. Not according to Dr. Badan and Dr. Ceryl Wecht(sp?).

They both stated on TV last night that to get an accurate diagnosis on how brain damaged Terri was the ME has to soak her brain in formaldehyde for a month then dissect it and run tests.

That is not being done here if he is already finished and turned over the body.

Agree.....wonder why they refused a qualified "observer" from a different ME's office ? Kinda taints the truth with such a closed door to professional courtesy IMO. But then a professional ME would be whack to try and hide such in a case such as this.........wouldn't they ??
