Caring for injured officer is family's 'only choice' (another Schiavo case)
modbee ^ | 4/1/05

Diana May of Modesto (California) cried when she heard that Terri Schiavo had died.

She never knew Schiavo. Like most people, she watched as a controversy unfolded over whether the 41-year-old woman should live or die.

"I've tried not to watch too much of this," May said. "It really hit home."

Like Schiavo, May's husband is in what doctors call a persistent vegetative state.

Modesto police Sgt. Steve May, now 48, went into a coma after a fleeing suspect crashed a stolen pickup into his squad car in the airport neighborhood on July 29, 2002.

....snip....

A few weeks after the crash, Steve May opened his eyes, but he has remained in a vegetative state.

May and her husband always knew he could be killed in the line of duty. What they never imagined was that he could be "left like this," she said.

"We did not have a living will or an advanced medical directive," she said. "Everybody should, obviously."

Steve May's eyes sometimes move, but there is no continuous, purposeful movement.

"Maybe it's wishful thinking, but there are just times when you know (he's) there," Diana May said.

Steve May can move some. He coughs, and, as Schiavo did, he swallows. But he gets nutrition through a feeding tube, and he breathes through a tube in his throat.

Doctors have said he has between 0 percent and 1 percent chance of any recovery, and no chance of a full recovery, his wife said.

Still, May said, she would never pull his feeding tube, as Schiavo's husband did.

"There's no way on God's green Earth," she said. "I would not let him starve. What a painful way that she went. I can't even imagine."

Terri was not in a PVS nor was she in a coma

The media just keeps lying in order to justify her
State sponsored murder and to get us used to the idea

They are attempting to desensitizes Americans to the new
death cult mantra...

PVS= you must kill by human starvation and dehydration

ah the ghost of nazis past

Neither did Michael, two years after the fact. Let us revisit Ms. May, and your statements, in the year 2017.

What is so amazing and horrifying at the same time - is how easily swayed the general public is! I spoke with a friend of mine in Michigan a week or so ago - asking her to start an emailing campaign there - and she said she felt badly, but could understand both sides regarding Terri and Michael. I almost had a COW! After about 30 minutes of filling her in on all the MSM had left out - she was as outraged as we all have been!

It is SO vitally important for the FReepers and other groups like us in this country to fight to the end - as we are the true Bringers of TRUTH. The MSM only feeds the public with want it wants them to know - to further the left's cause. WE know this - but people like my parent's (an easy reference for me as my father is a hardcore democrat from the days when the party WAS for the working man), have NO idea what is truly going on!

Worst of all, people in small town America - many of whom STILL - in 2005 - do not have cable access, or internet access, rely only on the local news and the National evening news, with bunny ears on the T.V. set. They think WE are nuts - only because they are ignorant of the TRUTH!

I began a blog journal several months ago to track my daily ins and outs of my battle with Fibromyalgia and life itself. Yet it has become a 'journal of justice', and is my way of getting the news I can out to the public. In addition, even though they look at me as though I have atennas growing out of my head - I NEVER miss an opportunity to share the knowledge I have of My Big 3 - Religion, Politics and Nutrition (all relative if you think about it) - to anyone who will stand still long enough to listen. This is the only way to really get the attention of those around you.

I am horrified at the turn this country is taking - MSM controlling everything to their advantage, and controlling what we have access to. It is proof positive that freedom of the press only applies to their side, as our news is censored when we try to get it out there.

I have posted articles to other boards and sites - only to have polite - 'no thank you's' given back - it did not fit their agenda. Even letters to the editor of local papers are censored and withheld when it comes to Conservative Republican views - but the DU is having a field day!

Okay, enough venting for now. It is time for us to really make an impression on this country - and I encourage ALL FReepers who DO NOT have a blog or personal website to get one fast! Post as much as you can. If anyone needs help with this - contact me by FReepmail, and I will give you all the info I can on how to get started.

Think about this - If EVERY member of FR had their own blog/journal/site, and became a member of at least one other board - maybe just an MSN group for something you like, for instance...sports - your link will be added to their list (almost all offer this feature), and we can quickly flood the net with OUR message. How fast can you all type? JK

I like that - think I will commit it to memory! I also enjoyed 'CNN' - Communist Network News. My 16 year old told me that one the other way! This kid is on his way! JK

It depends on which doctors she is referring to, don't ya think? Michael's doctors used those terms - the Schindler's did not. I think it is hard for those outside the world of medicine, trying to report on situations, really do not understand that 'practicing medicine' - is "practicing". Each case is different. I am not disagreeing with you - it seems this is one of the few articles I have seen by MSM that comes close to our point of view - the author should have included both sides of the story.

But , at this point, it is futile to split hairs....I am waiting for the autopsy results - Then The Gloves Come Off! JK

That is such a great statement that I think has been ignored too much in the last 20-30 years. Not too many people take that in account anymore when choosing there mate. A lot of people marry the first person they dated in High school. Nothing wrong with dating but its better wait for the person you were ment to spend your life with.

Terri was never in a coma.

Reports have her in a coma for several weeks in 1990.

In the two years that I've followed this story I have read a lot of "reports" but I haven't run across one that said that.

That's not exactly a sourced statement (the source being the author of the article only) but I guess I should amend the statement you have a problem with.

"Terri was not in a coma when she was killed nor had she been in the past fifteen years."

Thanks for the correction.

That's not exactly a sourced statement

I wasn't exactly trying to prove anything. Just letting you know that you should research further if the coma thing is important to you.

The importance of it is clearly spelled out in post #34. If the importance of your post had any meaning to you you would have tried to prove something with it. Guess it doesn't.
