CHRIS MATTHEWS SAID WHAT?!
Michelle Malkin ^

Posted on 04/01/2005 6:45:08 AM PST by Republican Red

I am so sick of the sanctimony of MSM bigmouths lecturing conservatives about the need for civility in the wake of Terri Schiavo's murder. Look at what MSNBC talk show host Chris Matthews said yesterday on Don Imus' radio show--a brutish, grotesque, and slanderous quote that the Imus website proudly spotlighted as one of its "News Quotes of the Day:"

[Matthews:] The American people believe that there's been a lot of politics in this, and they don't really have confidence in any of the parties here. There's nobody here who looks particularly compelling or attractive. The husband doesn't know how to present himself at all, his brother's okay. The parents... the father seems to be having, I hate to say this, a good time. I don't know why, maybe it's the focus, maybe he's giddy with sadness of the tragedy that has been going on for so long.

Now, look at this exhausted, heartbroken father and tell me he is having a "good time."

Tell me he looks "giddy."

Tell me he looks like he's enjoying the publicity.

We knew Chris Matthews had no shame. Now we also know: The king of cable TV ghouls has no soul.

I can't get Michelle's pictures to print so I found my own of the giddy Mr. Schindler:

Matthews needs to join Dan Rather out to pasture.

At the end of the day it seemed to me that Terri's dad truly understood that he had lost his daughter.

Gee, I figured he'd be too busy with his agent signing book and movie deals.

I think this is going to age the schindlers and their lives will be short. How can one live after this?

And Bobby? I felt for him. He seems like such a good man and so terribly stressed and angry.

All in all the saddest thing I have seen in years.

I'm not agreeing with Chris Matthews, but this whole episode is not nearly as simple as either side wants to make it.

I feel so sorry for Mr. and Mrs. Schindler. They have born tremendous pain, yet they have been graceful and admirable through all.

Matthews is truly a miserable infantile over-rated stinking piece of excrement.

I wish I could post how I really feel.

Matthews is an overweight putz who will always be considered a second rate shill for the RATS. I think in his heart of hearts, he knows this and has a hard time reconciling his career with his beliefs.

The smelly lefties are scared out of their wits over Terri. Chris and Imus seem to be admitting that the dems are being harmed by Terri, but they also want us to believe that the Republicans are being harmed as well.

I am so tired of the msm politicizing this tragic event. They have no shame. Why can't they behave in a dignified manor, this was a real person that died!!!

Matthew's is an idiot, but more than that, he's desperate to find some novel position to take on things which will get him some attention, thus get him some ratings and thus save his sorry career. "Move along, folks, Nothin' to see here"

Yeah I saw one of his books at the 99 cents store a couple weeks ago.

You ever hear someone talk and think to yourself, "That guy has never had a good a$$-whoopin'." I think that's Chrissy's problem. He's long over-due.

I agree! This is one issue that was very non-political, IMO. There were people from both sides of the polititcal spectrum on both sides of this issue. You can see it clearly in the split of the votes in the US Congress and the Florida Legislature. This is truly a life or death issue, not a 'R or D' issue.

He's tasteless and has lost it. He's now just another media whore who will say or do anything for an iota of attention. He must be very insecure to be so shallow at a time like this.
