What a wimp-out. Referring to Terri's "families" -- as if the adulterous bastard who had her murdered is on the same level as the mother who bore her and desperately tried to save her. Mr. Bush, wake up!
I voted for GWB, but that was the sorriest excuse for a compassionate comment as I've ever heard.
He came across to me as insincere, disinterested, rote, and didn't even show the respect to pause a moment before going into his one trick-pony speech (which I've heard a dozen times).
He missed a wonderful opportunity to talk about family values -- for example - and the danger of de-valuing life by abortions and euthanasia.
We need a LEADER not a READER. Not one who reads what someone else writes for him. (And he's not even a very good reader!)
Maybe he just mis-read what was written for him, or he was extemporizing again. He really doesn't do well 'off the cuff'. Either way: he definitely didn't ACT.
Michael is still her family, no matter what kind of SOB he turned out to be.

Take a pill. Deep down, we all know who W's sympathies are really with here, and what sentiments he feels for each.
Michael needs prayer, too, because he IS so loathesome. As a believer in Jesus Christ, I'm glad that I don't get what I deserve, either. Thank God for his mercy (when we don't get what we deserve), and for His grace (when we get what we don't deserve).
I actually think it was carefully worded, that he meant to stress the 'rift' between the 'famlies.' We all know which side he came down on too. Well done, I say.
