LEVITTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Terri Schiavo's ashes will be buried in an undisclosed location near Philadelphia so that her immediate family doesn't show up and turn the burial into a media spectacle, a member of the Schiavo family said Thursday.
``If Mike knew they would come in peace, he would have no problem with it,'' Scott Schiavo, Michael Schiavo's brother, said during an interview at his home.
After an autopsy, Michael Schiavo plans to have his wife's body cremated and her ashes brought to Pennsylvania, where she grew up. Scott Schiavo said the ashes would be buried in a plot left by an aunt and uncle, but the family does not plan on providing the specficic location for the burial - underscoring the bitterness of the dispute.
Her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, had fought for years to prevent her feeding tube from being removed, and they opposed cremation and wanted her buried in Florida.
Neither Terri Schiavo's parents nor her siblings addressed the issue of her burial in their remarks to reporters in Florida on Thursday. A spiritual adviser to her parents, Paul O'Donnell, said they plan to hold a Roman Catholic Mass without her body sometime next week.
Scott Schiavo said he received a stream of calls Thursday from people denouncing him. On his answering machine was a message from a man from Texas who called the Schiavo family murderers.
Police made visits Thursday to both Scott Schiavo's home and the home of his brother, William, in Philadelphia, as a result of threats to the families.
Scott Schiavo expressed relief that his sister-in-law's ordeal was over, and anger at those who have attacked the Schiavo family.
``This isn't over by a long shot, We're going to get our name right,'' he said. ``The world is going to know who Mike was, they're going to know Mike wasn't a beast.''
At Terri Schiavo's alma mater, Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, workers changed a sign that read ``Terri Schiavo, Class of 1981, We pray that you may live'' to ``We pray that you rest in peace.''
My husband's ex-wife is an evil wench. She's done and said horrible things to us for the past 7 years. But if something happens to my husband, I would allow her to be at his funeral to support his daughters. If the Schindlers really are the vindictive, horrible people that Michael's supporters claim, then wouldn't it prove that Michael was the better person by allowing them to be there?
The reason has been explained, OldFriend. She was becoming ill whenever she visited, and could not bear to witness her child dying like that.
Wait for the opus, pehaps all will be made clear. Gawd, I didn't think anyone could (or would) pre-opus!
Exactly. Like I said, Terri certainly didn't want THIS.
I agree.
I think the real problem is that a fight nearly broke out this morning and that is why the family had to leave. At least this time police were present. I think Terri's brother blew it arguing with the police.
Even though the real ordeal is over, the fights will continue. Schiavo's brother as much as said that Schiavo will be suing people for defamation.
Watch out biff, I can almost see EveningStar's hand hovering over the 'abuse' button.
Mike didn't have the guts to have a news conferance, but sent his "Clintonest" lawyer. He cradled her with a teddy bear in his arms, flowers all around, as she died a peacful death. This is beyond ironic! When the autopsy shows head and neck trama, bone fractures we will send this killer to join Scott Petterson.
I agree.

By the way, you're right. Mrs. Schindler gave birth to Terri, to not respect that is beneath contempt. But he has the right to do what he wants with his soon to be cremated piece of property.
This would not be the first funeral where the media were kept at bay! The Shindler family were very subdued today and I am sure that the Shiavo's could get security at the cemetary so it would not turn into a circus. Haven't they heard of private services. Geesh, let her family attend the graveside service for closure. The Shindler's can have their own Catholic memorial service although I am sure they would rather have a Mass of Resurrection, but that is not possible without a body.
As George Felos might say, "We wouldn't want to disrupt the dignity of the burial PROCESS. We're doing this for Terri. Michael just remembered that she said she wouldn't want the family at the burial." These people are monumentally scary.
They are going to find out where the funeral is alright...
People are going to hound you Michael. They will hound you till the day you die. And on that day, you will be hounded a lot longer.
To demand sainthood of Michael Schiavo, while giving the Schindlers a pass on their abominable conduct, is a tad much.
Nice try Scott, but I for one won't be buying Michael's book, watching Michael's movie, or viewing Michael's interview with Diane Sawyer or Barbara Walters. Michael is a heartless, soulless bully and killer without a shred of decency in him. I sure hope wife-to-be Jodi gets him before he gets her, but since she is probably the doormat to end all doormats, that is probably not likely to happen.
Do you know which synod?
If the Schindlers have any hope of finding peace, it will likely not be in the same place Michael Schiavo finds his. This whole premise is contrived so that the knife turning that went on in Terri's life can be prolonged even after her death. It's a circus. None of this matters. If there was any sanity left on either side, they'd seek solace and comfort in the company of their own loved ones and stop the damn warring.
Is this the buzz word for a possible book deal and movie in the future? Guess they won't get Mel Gibson to produce it, though.
I wonder if his fiance will be there or any of Terri's friends from the area?
