In most cases, that is quite true. This is, however, a case of the boy crying wolf, where the wolf has actually arrived on the scene.

It's about time this bit of internet debate etiquette comes to an end, because it serves only those who refuse to consider evil. If we agree as conservatives and Christians that evil is to be shunned, fought, and rejected, then how can we even discuss it unless we compare present instances of evil to past instances of it. Claiming you can't mention Nazis, facilitates, if nothing else, holocaust denial. Is that what you're pitching?
