Agreed. As far as I can tell from over the pond, Jeb had the authority - maybe - to save Ms Schindler. I can't see that the President did. That's Federalism - and most of the time it works well.
Reactionary losers? No if we were reactionary, we would have picked up weapons and used them. We are prayerful people who elected leaders who we thought did not readily use weapons, who used the Constitution as the law of the land, the same way we try to use the Bible. Their failure has consequences the same way our failure does.
We didn't need a shootout. Just Congress and the Deptarment of Justice sending the National Guard in to enforce their order.
