We have become a Nation where life is considered 'cheap'. A Nation where it is a 'good thing'....(after all...to some idiots..the mantra of 'quality of life' supersedes all.) to end life that is not perfect...maybe not even life as we consider it.
We (and we are all in the mix together..wether we like it or not)...kill unborn children. We put the elderly into warehouses...and call it good.
How soon before we start to hear calls for Euthanasia of the mentally handicapped??? (after all...is there really any difference between Terry Sciavo and someone severly retarted??)
How long before we hear the calls for the death of those with Alzheimer's or other elderly diseases???
We need to take a good long look at how we value life...and how we treat death.
Before it's too late.

Expect more terrorist attacks, soaring energy prices etc. soon. That is how God manifests his anger towards a wicked nation. God, after all, destroyed the Soviet Union because it was wicked, he no doubt has something lined up for the USA

I am on pro-life side and absolutely sickened by this woman's murder. But I do respectfully point out that we owe Ronald Reagan credit for bringing down Communism in the former Soviet Union, and we must not let the human filth known as terrorists off the hook for the terrorist attacks.
"People don't have the right to ask their spouses or family to become murderers. How selfish!"
Of course husbands and wives have the right to request how their end of life medical decisions are made. If you want to call it murder, I would suggest you acquire the necessary evidence and take it to the florida district attorney who will press charges if your evidence is convincing enough.
Yeah, never mind Michael Schiavo telling a friend 15 years ago that he and Terri were young and had never discussed what to do in such a case. Funny how Terri's supposed wish to die didn't surface until after all the malpractice suit money was won.
My heart has hit the ground. The following is by
me, and my apologies for using Pastor Niemoller's format.
"First they came for the Sanctity of Marriage, but I was not married, so I said nothing. Then they came for the unborn and born children, but I didnt have children, so I said nothing. Then they came for the Christians, but I was not a Christian, so I said nothing. Then they came for the disabled and infirm, but I was neither disabled nor infirm, so I said nothing. Then they came for me with lies in there mouths and evil in there hearts, with smiles on their faces, to destroy me, and there was no one to stand up for me."
God help us all, and please God, have Mercy on us.
// Does anyone else here think Terri's brother could be a double for Ben Stiller? //
yeah. he's got a great sense of humor, too, which I've seen even at the most difficult times. he's a true 'good guy', even if he is a 'nole.
Just got to thread---has anyone mentioned that his highness, Felos will be having a press conference at 2:30 est?
Would any of us want to miss him dancing on Terri's grave? I have said two or three times in the last couple of weeks that that is exactly what Felos and Schiavo will do, victory laps around Terri's grave---
And this lawyer scum couldn't even wait 12 hours before he comes out to GLOAT! How disgusting!
Thank you for the post. Well said...
'nole == FSU Seminole, aka "Gator bait". Yeah, I gotta get than in. We do have "Gators for Terri", who were such a support to the Schindlers.
Joebuck,
You have proven me wrong. I would suggest everyone on this board immediately discuss this situation with their loved ones. Don't put it off another day. You certainly do not want to go through what the Schindlers and Schiavo's have been dealing with simply because the situation was not discussed fully. If necessary make a living will so that there is no confusion whatsoever.
"Perhaps it's the incessant girlie-boy whining of the "I'm personally opposed, BUT" party who, unlike the victimized Dems, feels forced always to compromise their objective truths on account of someone's "feelings" somehow."
...or maybe they are afraid of losing votes.
God's purpose. Which is clear to varying degrees among his sheep.
Have a great day!

Amen, joanie! But just because we can't get justice out of the courts doesn't mean there is no Justice. A day of reckoning lies ahead for all those complicit in the death of this innocent who was manifestly entitled to their protection.
On the one hand, we must leave them to the Judgment of God. On the other, in light of the profound insult to our republic occasioned by this hideous affair, I find these words of yours spot-on:
Those who are determined to cling steadfastly to Gods truths cannot allow Terris murder, and the identities of those who were either actively or passively complicit in it, to fade from our memories. We need to remember who Terris enemies were -- both those who actively sought her demise, and those who had the power to save her and yet did not choose to venture far from their own emotional comfort zones. Terris death is a watershed event that portends dark, perilous times for our republic, unless we now begin to work to unmask the evil and the indolent among the ranks of our leadership, and work to remove them from their positions of power.
May God bless Terri and comfort her agonized, traumatized, and cruelly insulted family; and may He have mercy on all the rest of us.
What do you consider many years? They were married for five years when Terri suffered cardiac arrest. To me, that isn't that long and they were very young at the time. My ex-husband and I never discussed those issues when we were in our early 20's. It didn't cross either of our minds that we might end up in a situation like that. This is an excellent point.
I suspect that "Living" Wills shall now become a standard form along with pre-nups for couples intending to marry "til death do us part".
That phrase has been in my head all morning.
God help us if people like you decide who is truly human and worthy of life, and who isn't.
