Yes, the left will have a field day with this...but they need to be constantly reminded who was president for EIGHT years before 9/11. Bush had 9 months.....Clinton had EIGHT years and at two attacks on his watch, with NO response. (OK City and World Trade Ctr)

You forgot the Cole. That was an actionable event if the world ever saw one, but Clinton did nothing.
That handed the process over to whoever the next president would be; it may have been a joke intended for Big Al.

This will be fodder for the Democrats for . . . oh . . . about two days. They know their Billy Boy was NEVER concerned over security/terrorism. Sandy Berger was a former lobbyist, for Christ's sake. How much time did Berger spend with Freeh and Tenet? How much time did Freeh and Tenet spend with Clinton?
Clinton's complete disinterest in matters like security will become common knowledge if only someone would do some real, old-fashioned investigative journalism.

Bush had 9 months.....Clinton had EIGHT years and at two attacks on his watch, with NO response. (OK City and World Trade Ctr)Not only that, the Clinton administration gutted funding for the military, the FBI, the CIA, and the NSA, leaving them all ill-equipped to do their job.

Actually, Bubba had more attacks than that (Blackhawk Down incident, Khobar Towers, USS Cole, attacks on US embassies abroad), but your point is right on.
To: Loud Mime; PilloryHillary
Don't forget the African embassy bombings, too.

From a news story online....
The commission's report said the principal cause of the intelligence failures was the intelligence community's "inability to collect good information about Iraq's WMD programs, serious errors in analyzing what information it could gather and a failure to make clear just how much of its analysis was based on assumptions rather than good evidence."
Well can you imagine that....
I got a feeling the left is going to have a field day with this...
The left only? Field day? Anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together should be seriously concerned about this. Well I'm sure all those munitions are really in Syria, no wait Iran, no, now where did they go again? I'm sure ol' Billy Kristol will explain it to us tonight on Fox News. That is if he's gotten the pie off his face yet
I pray that this is a wakeup call for President Bush and he gets rid of most of his staff. I still believe he is a good man, but he's surrounded by idiots. And his most intelligent advisors have quit already

Anyone who is watching the Iran situation right now and thinks that Iraq was some kind of non-threat to the US, West, etc. is IMHO a complete idiot.

In all the articles I have read there is no blame where I believe the majority of the blame resides...ON CONGRESS.
Congress has oversight authority to assure our intelligence community is functioning and capable. They are the only ones doing this as it should be. If a Boston Big Dig overruns by 700% we all can see from this. If the CIA cannot function we cannot see this. Pat Brown the Senate Intelligence Chair should resign immediately, as should everyone else on those House and Senate oversight committees. I remember during the presidential campaign where the attendance records of Senator's Kerry and Edwards were terrible when they were on the Intelligence committee but Pat Brown would not or could not release their or any other senator's committee attendance record without the senator's OK. (The attendance records were never released).
OXENinFLA commented the left is going to have a field day with this, I'd say there is plenty of blame for both sides. Congress, rather than doing there job is more concerned with Steroids in baseball or Terri Shavo. This is a genuine failure but the press will not even address this. It is Congresses duty to oversee the Intelligence function and they were not even there. If you are a member of Congress and you are on an Intelligence oversight committee, you should attend the meetings. We, the public should not know what's being discussed but we should know who goes to the meetings. Again, Pat Brown step down.

Well, I guess I'm a bit more cynical. The way I see it, a man who surrounds himself with idiots is himself an idiot.

Bush had 9 months.....Clinton had EIGHT years and at two attacks on his watch, with NO response. (OK City and World Trade Ctr)Hmmmm....wondering what either one of those has to do with Iraq or the claim of WMDs. Oh, nothing? As numerous reports have proven? Sorry, carry on spinning.....

"Hmmmm....wondering what either one of those has to do with Iraq or the claim of WMDs. Oh, nothing?"
Clinton was responsible for the state of the intellegence agencies and military at the time of the 9/11 attacks --as well as the FACT that he did NOTHING to protect this country from terrorism--even when we were attacked. Clinton was responsible for the lack of funding in the FBI/CIA etc. They didn't even have up to date computer technology that most small business have, thanks to Clinton and his cabinet. If Bush would have had better intellegence, maybe things would have turned out differently. Carry on with your snide remarks...
