Michael Schiavo’s lawyer, George Felos, is a leading light of the so-called ‘right-to-die’ movement, and his book, Litigation as Spiritual Practice, makes interesting reading. On page 240 Mr Felos writes, ‘The Jewish people, long ago in their collective consciousness, agreed to play the role of the lamb whose slaughter was necessary to shock humanity into a new moral consciousness. Their sacrifice saved humanity at the brink of extinction and propelled us into a new age.... If our minds can conceive of an uplifting Holocaust, can it be so difficult to look another way at the slights and injuries and abuses we perceive were inflicted upon us?’

Mr Felos feels it is now Terri Schiavo’s turn to ‘agree’ to play the role of the lamb whose slaughter is necessary to shock humanity into a new moral consciousness. As I read Felos’s words, I heard a radio bulletin announce that the Pope may now require a feeding tube. Fortunately for him, his life is ultimately in the hands of God and not a Florida probate judge.

Is it actually possible that Michael Schiavo's lawyer just said that the murder of millions of Jews was a good thing???!!

Am I MISREADING THIS!??

Steyn has publicized an amazing quote.

No ... you are not mis-reading here ...

Felos definitely has an affinity for DEATH.

The death of someone like Terri Schiavo is a dream for him.

Fortunately, if you want to execute someone who hasn’t committed a crime, you don’t need to worry with any of this ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ stuff. If an al-Qa’eda guy got shot up resisting capture in Afghanistan and required a feeding tube and the guards at Guantanamo yanked it out, you’d never hear the end of it from the American Civil Liberties Union and Amnesty International and all the rest.

Seems like Felos is some kind of New-Age flake, of the type who will be pleased to inform you, "I am God."

You are not misreading the statement about the Jews and the Holocaust, xzins, and it is simply sickening. In making the Holocaust a voluntary self-sacrifice "in the Jewish collective consciousness," Hitler and the Nazis are relieved of all guilt for trying to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth.

What a twisted fellow this Felos is! He should be in restraints, in a rubber room....

Thank you for your post!

It reads that way to me as well.

I find his reference to 'collective consciousness' interesting also. Evidently he has an Eastern mysticism view of things - the dead recycle in the "whole" as it strives to become more.

Evidently with the holocaust, he sees the Jews becoming the sacrificial lamb for a 'quantum leap' in the 'collective consciousness'.

What is bizarre for me personally is that I see God's will in Terri's life and death - forcing everyone who even heard of it much less were involved to make a decision deep in their souls - for or against life of any quality. I also believe many will be examining their own motives (even if they try not to do so) - whether they were seeking God's will or their own.

This does not however put me in Felos' camp - only that I do see a greater purpose in every life and death. For Felos it is a purpose of a 'collective consciousness' but for me, it is God's will.

Felos is a T*rd, and an embarrassment to the legal profession. Period.

I'm tired of the SOS. I know by his actions the character of Felos and Michael Schiavo. What I am doing is what I can do. Today I phoned my Congressman and requested that he consider initiating impeachment proceedings against Justice Birch of the 11th Circuit. And I don't care if he is one of the most conservative justices on the court, his viewpoint as expressed in the opinion rejecting the request by the Schindler family is to me is sufficient evidence of his judicial arrogance.

In resolving the Schiavo controversy it is my judgment that, despite sincere and altruistic motivation, the legislative and executive branches of our government have acted in a manner demonstrably at odds with our Founding Fathers’ blueprint for the governance of a free people — our Constitution.

Since when is the action of passing a law an action demonstrably at odds with the Constitution?

It is the belief of certain groups that every event in our lives is brought about through our own actions. If we're wrongly arrested for bank robbery, the theory goes, we must have done something wrong in the first place to be suspected of this crime, even if it's only being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Mr. Felos gives every indication of being a member of this group.

I see no evidence that the Jewish people "agreed to play the role of the lamb whose slaughter was necessary to shock humanity into a new moral consciousness."

The Jewish people were murdered by satanists.

And there was only One Lamb whose slaughter was necessary -- Jesus Christ.

I heard a radio bulletin announce that the Pope may now require a feeding tube.

While the RCC is what it is, the current pope seems to have been a decent fellow and I certainly wish him no ill. However, apparently he has written something directing that he be kept alive indefinitely even if he is in a coma or a PVS. I think it would be interesting to see those 'vatican lawyers' start to squirm if their pope settled into a nice 15-year coma with a trusty feeding tube keeping him 'alive.'

I have a feeling that current RCC dogma about feeding tubes would start changing right quick.

Steyn has publicized an amazing quote.

There's more.

In his book, Felos claims to hear the voices of the comatose asking for "release"
