Riding the Waves: Why Hillary will be hard to beat.
OpinionJournal ^ | 3/31/05 | Peggy Noonan

Posted on 03/31/2005 3:52:02 AM PST by CT CONSERVATIVE

It is pointless to be afraid, but good to be concerned. Why? ...because she is not going to get seriously dinged in the 2008 primaries but will likely face challengers who make her look even more moderate and stable; and because in 2008 we will have millions of 18- to 24-year-old voters who have no memory of her as the harridan of the East Wing and the nutty professor of HillaryCare.

No, I meant as president. Rudy obviously could win in NY. But he can't be GOP president. He's pro-choice.

Right. I was not advocating he run for president (06 not 08)- I agree that he will never receive the support for president because he is prochoice. And I agree with that- I wouldn't vote for him!

Whoops! Yeah, I see now. You said 06! Yeah, I think that's the correct move. It'd be great to have Rudy in the Senate from NY. That's about as good as we can expect from the empire state.

Are you kidding!? A pro-choice republican who likes illegal immigrants, the UN, and wants to ratify LOST? No way in hell!

Aside from not being pro choice, and doing zero about it, you have just described our president perfectly.

You quasi Pubs had best get your act together and FACE REALITY, because your heroes will be beaten into the ground by the Clintons, and if riding over a cliff to satisfy your ideology is okay with you, then get prepared to LOSE.

Where did you ever gerrt the idea that old Hilda can say one thing and mean another to advance their agenda, but we cannot?

And with your mindset, practice saying President Clinton!

Oh, yes she will.

The Clintons will brush aside any contenders. It won't even be close.

It is Bill who is canny.
Everyone seems to forget him, and I am beginning to think of them as the "Puppet Masters."

how interesting that a pro-hitlary article appears at a time when we have a bumper crom of faux conservative trolls upset at the republican party.

how interesting that the media is pushing the fake polls showing 150% of people are upset at "the governemnt" interfearing with terri schiavo. (government courts? or government legislature?) Suddenly hitlary who is M.I.A. appears in the news.

how interesting that the MSM which is falling all over themselves to cite PLUNGING FALLING COLLAPSING LEAD BALLON HORROR PANIC PANIC PANI PANIC approval numbers of the president, are cited just before this article appears.

Mediots at play.

Jocon, I am betting real money on the Dim ticket being Clinton/Richardson.

To everyone else: Please keep saying "Hillary" and nor CLINTON, so as to ensure our defeat in 08.

Face it, Clinton bitch slapped us in 2 elections, and he is poised to do the same.

Thank you. Most of the anti-Condis on this board are the kind of folks who would run Alan Keyes against Hillary under the passionate delusion that he would actually win a state.

Noonan doesn't actually think much of Condi's prospects, either, to be fair. However, I think she's the only viable candidate to take out the Hillywilly.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

See my other posts.

The controversy over Rice and/or McCain is alredy doing that, and Bill needs no other 3rd party this time.

We will do it ourselves.

Florida will never, ever go for Hillary.

Any dim canidate for POTUS in this decade can write off Florida, period.

Despite what the MSM has spread, we don't forget.

18- to 24-year-old voters

They don't bother going to the polls so it won't matter. Besides that, Hillary will prove to be even more of an empty suit than kerry was. She will probably easily take the dim nomination but she won't prove to be a very formidable opponent in a presidential election. She is not nearly as quick as bill was or kerry for that matter.

Nope. Thats a main part of what Bill Clinton was, and he proved that a lying, sexist pig from a Southern State could walk over honest Republicans like they were dogsh*t.

You aren't worst casing at all, but I do believe that he would be our next Secretary of State, being that that would be wholly controlled by Hillary and the confirmation process, rather that the UN GA., which is 1005 anti American

Well, if YOU say so it must be true.

I figure that the conventional wisdom (that she is anointed) is very often wrong. Senators tend to not become President. When push comes to shove, the DNC will get cold feet over her, recognize her devisiveness, and go with a popular democrat (former or current) from a red state. That's their best bet - not a polarizing northeast democrat.
