PINELLAS PARK, United States (AFP) - As a brain-damaged woman passed her 12th day without food or drink in a hospice here, Terri Schiavo's parents are planning to again petition the US Supreme Court to intervene, their lawyer said.

Bob and Mary Schindler have been rebuffed by a series of courts in recent weeks and days, their latest setback came Wednesday after the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals rejected their appeal to reopen the case into whether their daughter's feeding tube should be reinserted.
But the woman's parents appear set to continue waging their legal battle.
"I can confirm for you that we are now preparing to file an appeal with the United States Supreme Court," the Schindler's lawyer, Steve Kluth, said in a statement issued by his office.
However, the Schindlers have already been rebuffed once by the US' highest court in Washington on March 24.
Terri Schaivo's feeding tube was removed March 18, triggering an intense legal battle and a right-to-life political storm that sparked the involvement of the US Congress and US President George W. Bush.
Bush signed legislation backing a federal court review of Terri's case -- she has been in a persistent vegitative state for 15 years -- but the federal courts have so far declined to intervene on her behalf.

If she was dying from her original injury, how did she live for 15 years?
She has not recovered from her original injury, and only intensive medical care has keep her body going, with out her ever regaining consciousness.
She is dying from lack of water and food.
She is dying because she has no brain functions, food and water in her mouth would choke her.
She can't get up and get her own food. Babies can't get their own food either so does that mean we let them die from starvation?
Babies can eat what you put in their mouths, so this means we shouldn't forget to feed them.
We can only hope so. We know one day they will have to ANSWER for their actions before the ultimate Judge.
There have been some unbelievably hateful and very cruel things posted lately. It is hard to read some of these threads.
I agree, although I think most would agree that it is pretty well suspected/known that she never told Michael she didn't want to live that way, although the fact she is living without "life support" indicates she wasn't on "life support" to begin with....anyways...at an oncology office I visit, there are people who have stopped treatment, and I have seen that when someone is on deaths door and wants to die, their body flat out quits. And some on deaths door, the will or desire to live carries them on. I don't understand it, but there is something to be said for desire, one way or the other, without outside intervention.

If someone is applying CPR to an individual, and after 15 years it is apparent that it is not working, is admitting failure and stopping the CPR murder?

Okay, are we talking about the same Terri Schiavo? The same one that we have SEEN in videos with her eyes open, watching a balloon, and responding to a request to open them wider?

No they have not. Terri has a rigid neck condition consistent with strangulation.
The euthanasia advocates hope a lie repeated often enough will be believed.
Her brain was hurt when it ran out of oxygen. She has not been lucid since.

Only two things can realistically happen to resolve this expeditiously:
1) Jeb Bush call the local and County police and get agreement for state to take immediate control of patient. Make the local law go on record that they will oppose it.
2) George Bush nationalize guard and take immediate control of patient with Jeb Bush and local law enforcement agreement.
There are no other ways. What can the local courts do? It would take a couple of months to figure it out, and by then she would be back on nutrients, and her case would get proper due process and review for abuse, and determining the true nature of her state. Just like Kennedy did with school integration. Prayer is fine for her soul, but she is not just only a soul at this point.
If the Bushes do not take immediate actions in this regard, its over. My goodness, of all the domestic issues they can the greatest influence on, this is it!
Time is of the essence.
