Yes-of course I remember you son and you- but I have not met you and I do not know you- and if you read carefully that is what I was alluding to there in the brackets.

Let me tell you what evil is- evil is stealing an American's rights away from them because they are not able to sit up and demand them. Evil is silencing a helpless citizen who needs care.

Michael is evil-Greer is evil and felos is evil.

Jeb is a well meaning person who is over his head with these three goons and was unprepared to fight them off. He is a good man- but not a great leader. He is not starving someone- he is not in the act of stealing her rights. He is just not made of the stuff to stop it.

And to me that is NOT evil, but it is disappointing and frustrating.

Why do I care about Terri's rights?

Ohio- I know people who have died to make sure she had them- and that pisses me off that some jerk like pantywaist MS decides otherwise.

That may be something you can understand as the Mother of one of our finest.

Want me to get on my soapbox? Fine!

Why the hell did your family and others have to sacrifice for our citizens freedom when a blind and greedy judge can just swipe them away at the request of a guardian who wants to move on with his life?

Disappointed that Jeb didn't see this whole thing coming and prepare to fight it off. You bet I am.

Is he a killer, a murder, a henchman-No.

When did you hear that Jeb was running in 2008? When did you hear Jeb SAY that he was running, or even considering running in 2008?

All this, Jeb is a coward so I'll never vote for him again is sheer nonsense.

And any conservative who says that Hillary Clinton would be a better choice than ANY Republican is out of his mind.........or not a conservative.

Hillary is a far leftist who hates America and will destroy our military, and try to destroy our country. Get a grip out there!

Thanks for actually replying to what I posted.

I disagree with you, but I respect your views.

I don't think a good man refuses to stop a murder if he has it in his power. I think he was trying, but that there was no legal way.

And I am sick of the hatred for him, and for his good brother, our strong, brave Commander in Chief, that is being expressed with the ugliest vitriol I have ever seen since I joined this forum.

I have been actively pro-life for decades, and a strong advocate for Terri, but I have been called evil names by 'pro-life' extremists (from who knows where) around here for over a week.

I am praying for this nation, and for this forum. FR is a force for good in this country, and what I have seen around here in the past weeks is spiritual warfare, with evil forces seeking to bring it down, and to tear us apart.

One of the reasons I chose your reasoned post to reply to here (among the vulgar, rotten Bush-hating ones), is that you presented a point of view that I believe many good people share, that I thought should be challenged, and would result in a reasonable debate.

I'm sorry I bothered you.

If the Republicans put Jeb Bush up for President- they will deserve to lose. I wouldn't want him in charge of our military if he can not stand up to Greer.

If the GOP is serious about protecting our military they will find someone with foresight, determination and gusto.

Jeb did not pass the GW test. His gifts are in other areas-he is not presidential material.

He's already made it plain that he's not running. Only trolls from DU believe otherwise.

Lets remember that the flaming and hysteria has been on both sides. I have been attacked and mocked for my stand as well.

Yes- there are very nasty people-on BOTH sides around here saying all kinds of crazy nasty things to each other and about all of the players.

I have tried to be reasonable- but somehow the discussion always turns nasty.

I apologize if I responded harshly to your genuine question.

I do not hate Governor Bush or President Bush.

I seriously think that Jeb may have entertained the thought a few years ago. But after this whole thing he has turned away from it.

Which is good. His strengths are in other areas. Not everyone is made up of the stuff to be President.

GW is going to cast a long shadow.

"Florida Gov. Jeb Bush told us last week he just didn't have the power and authority to save one innocent woman forced by court order and armed guard to starve to death in his state. I don't believe that's true."

You might not believe it, but the state's attorneys believed it.

"...and when they did this forum screamed like a stuffed pig on a spicket! You want both Bush's to be on the equal scumbag "piss on the law" level as Bill Clinton?"

Respectfully, there is still right and there is still wrong. Leadership is not about compromise, that is politics. This is about a helpless woman, a citizen of the state of Florida being starved and parched to death. If Governor Bush could not stand for her, he cannot stand for us, not now, not ever.

I somewhat agree, but we have an enemy within. Liberalism-socialism, has infected the Republican Party. I applaud the President for taking on Social Security. Private accounts are a no brainer. But on balance, his entire domestic agenda has been big government.

Republicans need to get beyond hear no evil see no evil and demand conservative principles be embraced.

If the constitution states that we the people have the inalienable right to life and he is the president sworn to protect, defend, and preserve the constitution, and if there is a tripartite form of government....separate but equal....then what judge can order a person be put to death. And what supreme administrator should not stand against that INALIENABLE (cannot be taken away)right to that person living. Inalienable is not to be trivialized.

Please site for me the laws which Mr. Bush would be breaking which would take on more gravity than the inalienable right to life.

Mr. Bush just ceded presidential power to a judicial oligarchy which is completely out of control. This will not stop with the Schiavo case. You may feel fine with the politics of the situation, but Bush more than anyone has lit the fire of euthenasia and selected killing by his inaction. I do not say he doesn't feel badly for Ms.Schiavo, but look at what he has done. Look at the inaction of the Congress.

I tell you this,....remember in the 2007-08 campaign, there will be demanded by conservative right to life voters an absolute demand for someone, anyone, who will stand up for the right to life, on both ends of the spectrum. Someone, like Phillips, Buchanan, or someone else will stand up for life, and siphon of 4 or 5 percentage points from the Republican. The Democrats will be swept into office because of the lack of action of George and Jeb Bush. They do not have the courage of their convictions. They asked us to believe they stood for life, but when push came to shove, they made decisions for the culture of death. The prolife community will not forget this circumstance where their true feeling were stripped naked and revealed their comments on life were not for life, but for political gain.

Prolife conservative would like to vote on economic, foreign policy, immigration matters, but those are second tier concerns when the government of the United States of America is electing to turn a blind eye while a Florida judge orders the execution of an innocent woman. I would like to vote on taxes, but the world I create is the world I will leave to my children,...and right now a darkness sweeps over the land.

Watch and see how "conservative" the senate and the president are when it comes to judicial nominations. They will let Leahey and Kennedy run all over them. The Republicans do not have the courage of their convictions until they prove it to me. They have already proven otherwise. They have thrown out my trust and millions of prolife conservatives and that trust will be hard-won only by actions which are crystal clear as to their intent and actions regarding the inalienable right to live by every innocent person.

I am grieved to say these things about a man who I knew was a president on par with President Reagan, President Teddy Roosevelt, and President Jackson. When I stood in the cold rain trying to get Bush elected....when I wrote a check to his campaign,...when I spoke openly about this good man and his being the right man for the times.....I was sure he measured up,...but he was weighed in the balance and has come up lacking. We gave him this great public trust, and that was fine as long as he did not risk public or political criticism. He will not run again, so it appears there is no allegiance to his own words. Words without deeds ring hollow. I cannot believe it has come to this.

I know that..........and I completely concur that the fault has been on both sides of the argument.

It's been a madhouse around here, where the voices of reason on both sides of the debate are being drowned out by the shrill and angry (and a whole lot of DU trolls, IMO).

The problem is, that this is a serious issue........a literal life and death issue.......that will determine which direction we take as a nation.

I, for one, am thankful for having a strong pro-life President who is not afraid to take a stand, who is not poll-driven, and who will do what he thinks is right regardless of the political winds.

We need him right now, to guide us toward a path where life is valued..........even a damaged, 'unwanted' life. This has been going on for a long time, and is part of a far greater issue than this one particular case (I am SO thankful for the strength of the Schindlers to keep fighting against all hope, and as a result bring it to national attention).

A large part of the medical establishment is against honoring all life. The judicial establishment is against it. And we have a long way to go to reverse the trend. Most of us have sat idly by and let it happen over decades. It's not going to be changed overnight.

But I believe in America. I believe the majority of Americans want to do what is right. And I believe that Terri Schindler Schiavo's tragedy will wake people up to how far we have declined.........and that's what I am praying for every day.

I think he has turned away from it because of what he knows 'up close and personal' it does to people and their families.

I personally believe protecting his family is a large part of why he decided not to run. I don't think this issue, or any 'weakness' had anything to do with it. JMHO.

As someone who was supporting Jeb until he revealed inability to handle a crisis, I am very disappointed in the whole turn of events. But better we learn about Jeb now than than have it revealed with him in the White House and the North Koreans rattling their nukes. If Judge Greer and some MSM-slanted polls could make Jeb wet his pants, I wouldn't have wanted him in charge of the defense of the West against nuclear-armed enemies.

Yes he washed his hands of the whole matter. Pretty pathetic. And not just because it led to Terri's death. Also because it set a precedent that undercut his executive authority --- he let judge Greer get away with usurping executive power by ordering local cops to repel a state agency and state police. That's a form of coup. Judges aren't in charge of the cops. As the Federalist Papers say, the constitutional check on the judiciary is the fact htat courts don't have the police power to enforce their decisions, they must rely on the executive. Greer cut out the middleman- the executive - and assumed the powers of the executive himself. And spineless Jeb let him get away with it.
