And then, "I hope they don't haul the kid off or charge his parents.."

Never know....States being as stupid and as evil as they have been, escpecially lately.

Oh, for Pete's sake

Actually, Civil War era artillery shells are more dangerous than modern ones. The explosives used before WWI are quite unstable and get worse as time goes by. This shell may have been rendered inert but there was no way for the teacher to know that. If my kid were in the class, I would want it evacuated.
