I'm still a believer. There has never been any reason to doubt Pons and Fleishmann, as far as I know, other than the inability to reproduce their experiment. Perhaps they just got something exactly right by chance.

I'm also intrigued by the possibility of fusion initiated by sound-produced bubbles in fluid.

Call me a dreamer if it makes you happy.

I've posted a few articles here on sonoluminescence which is what you're referring to. Do a search on the term on FR and you'll find them. There's some interesting updates just this month.
