IF the reporting that Mikey stopped Terri's rehab (provided for by the malpractice settlement) one month after the money was received is true, then Terri might well have been able to eat the normal way like a champ by now. IF Terri was indeed able to swallow jello and ice cream as allegedly reported by some of her nurses (the ones not fearful of Mikey Shiavo's wrath) WITHOUT rehab, then it's quite logical that she might well be able to eat and swallow normally now.
I should say "might well have been able to eat and swallow with PROPER rehabilitation".
Quite true, and one of the underpinings of the injustice done in this case that the general public cited in these polls likely remain blissfully unaware of. Michael has stacked the deck on a crash course to have her put to death-- they plead her hideous state as justification, but don't mention how their own actions have been focussed on making her state as bad as it could be.

When it happened, she got great care and the best therapy they could find anywhere. She was taken to an excellent rehabilitation center where she was given therapy for over 3 years - far beyond the critical 3 - 12 months when recovery is determined.
He got the $ around January 1993 - after 3 years of therapy. He did not know, when the malpractice suit was started, how much Terri would recover.
