Charges Filed in Death of Iowa Girl
By TODD DVORAK IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - A registered sex offender accused in the abduction and slaying of a 10-year-old girl was charged Monday with first-degree murder and kidnapping.
Roger Paul Bentley, 37, would face life in prison if convicted. Bail was set at $1 million on each count.

I don't know why this is a surprise. Our court systems let these crawling, reaking bastards out of their cages to prey on children. Thanks to the corrupt court system for letting these maggots run loose on the streets so they may satisfy their lusts for blood.
We let it happen by not forcing accountability on our "judges".
She dates the murderer's brother. Her daughter is molested by that brother who is in jail. Her daughter had spent weekends with that brother. But she doesn't know that the molester's brother was also molester? And she lets him work on her car while she's gone?
He will get life and more protection/rights to live than T.S.. They wouldn't dare take his feeding tube away if he had one.
Willfull neglect or reckless endangerment. How is this any different than if she had put her daughter in a cage with a tiger? It shows the same sickening disregard for her daughter's safety.
It is amazing to me that a mother would not do everything she could to protect her child from this type of evil. I read in my local paper all the time about children that are abused by mommy's new boyfriend. And I hate to be a prude, but you should never shack up if you have young children and don't bring different men in your home to have sex if you have children at home for goodness sake. Think of your children before yourself, ladies.
We need more prudes, in my opinion.
Authorities accused Bentley of taking Jetseta Gage from her home in Cedar Rapids on Thursday night. Police said Jetseta's 7-year-old brother saw her get into a truck with Bentley, minutes after the children's grandmother told them it was about time to go to bed.Police acting on a tip found Bentley and the girl's body on Friday in an abandoned mobile home in a rural area. He appeared to have blood stains on his clothing and evidence suggested the girl was sexually abused, according to court documents.
Bentley had been at the Gages' house Thursday night, replacing the transmission in the family's minivan.
The girl's mother, Trena Gage, said she met Bentley through his younger brother, James, who she had dated about five years ago.
Trena Gage, who was attending night college classes when her daughter was taken, said she did not know Bentley was a registered sex offender. The state's Sexual Offender Registry said he was convicted in 1994 of lascivious acts with a child. He served two years of a five-year sentence.
James Bentley has been in jail since last fall awaiting trial on a charge of second-degree sexual abuse. Police said Jetseta was the victim in that case.
