What does the provision of refreshment and sustenance to the dying have to do with denying God's will by divesting sex from procreation?
That just shows you don't understand the dogma. It's not because birth control is "artificial", it's because sex should not be divorced from procreation. Thus the only allowable birth control is abstinence. It's also a violation of the Biblical command to go forth and multiply.
Not that I agree, I believe we've more than satisfied that command. I also believe that sex, in humans, is about a lot more than simple procreation. It's also about maintaining the bonds of marriage in the nuclear family in which to raise children.
