A Russian Mi-8 military helicopter has crashed in the war-ravaged Chechnya region, with some reports saying six people on board were killed. The crash happened 20km (13 miles) from the main Russian military base at Khankala, near Grozny.
It is not clear whether the crash was caused by technical difficulties or rebel activity.
Chechen separatists have been battling Russian forces in the region for more than five years.
Nine passengers and three crew were said to be on board the aircraft.
But sources differed on casualty figures, with some officials saying no one had died.
Helicopter crashes are common in Chechnya, with a number lost to rebel ground fire, but others coming down because of pilot error or technical malfunctions.
The last incident happened on 11 March, when a helicopter hit power lines, killing 11 soldiers.
Bullet holes were later reportedly found in the tail.
The crash came just three days after the death of Chechen rebel leader Aslan Maskhadov.
Great, the revolutionary school kids shake the hand of a Communist president of Communist ruled Poland. Wow, that's such an improvement.
You all look like Slavs to me. By the way, there is no such ethnicity as Ukranian - it is a geographic and linguistic distinction.
Hay brightlight, look, there's no Poland either. Guess you're either a Goth or an East German. Next time you try to make a point, think first.
PRESIDENTS OF THE BALTIC STATES AND UKRAINE WILL NOT TAKE PART IN THE CELEBRATIONS OF THE SO CALLED LIBERATION BY THE RED ARMY ON MAY 9, 2005.===
Really?:))
Do the victims, do the persecuted ones meet their oppressors with frenetic joy?!===
Some of them forgot some thing but the peopel of maidan isn't all Ukraine.
Bloohshed in Vistula happened not very long ago. DOn't you forget.
Just learn real history not limited polish version.
So why the heck are these cities in Russia now? ==
Minsk and Kiev? Those are cities founded ancient Kiev Rus from what Russia developed.
OR you insist that those cities was founded by Poland?:))))
All of eastern Europe was founded by Poland, back during Julius Ceasar's day. That's where the Roman gods went to procreate, giving people like ms-68 his divine ability to rewrite history. Then came along the Russian-Hun-Tatar and slowly ate away at the Polish lands, stealing and cooking their babies. Bad Booboo, Bad. Sit.
Oh and if you make one like snappy comments in really big font, then your point must be the truth.
Here's what's different. The Poles did not take over schools and kill kids in wholesale batches.
That's my big problem with Islamic "rebels". They have no problem targeting the innocent. As long as they keep doing that, I will support kicking their f___ing a$$es all over the place.
They're a bunch of sissies and cowards and murderers and deserve what they get.
I was no fan of going into Iraq, but the actions of the vermin over there (beheading reporters, relief workers, women, etc,) have made me a supporter of wiping them off the face of the earth.
As to WWII, Russia was a good ally of Hitler, so why should we celebrate the victory of the Nazis' allies? ===
Russia is nazi ally?:))))) It is just laughable nothing more.
You in critical state of denial dude.
SO stupid thing to declare I didn't hear before.
Isn't it was USSR who destroyed capital of nazi Germany? Who destroyed nazi army under Stalingrad, Moscow, Kursk on Visla, Oder and so on and on.
Isn't it was USSR who fred your people from nazi?
You just ungrateful ... nothing more.
Apart from Pilsudski's firm support for Ukrainian independence (grab others land????) there was obviously an aggressive, irresponsible stance towards minorities by post-Pilsudski military governments. No question about that. Do you agree?===
Sir the eastern border of Poland in 1939 was neaer Minsk and included the terrirory of western Ukraine with Lwow.
If it is "support" of ukranian independence when Pulsudskii or polish goverment after him kept ukraniand and bellorussian lands I then don't know what then is "deny".
If we all knwo that ukranian independence movement began from killing polish interior minister in 1935 or 36.
Whether you want it or not in years 1939-1941 Soviet Russia was Hitler's Germany ally.==
From 1939-41 yes. BUT your pictures and capital letters intented to beleive that USSR was ALWAYS Hitler ally. Whiah is against even most unreasonable but logic:).
Anyway what USSR took from Poland wasn't polish lands. But lands of ukranians and bellorussians. WHat USSR gave back to Poland is Gdansk, part of Silesia, Stettin and other historical german lands.
So for Poland it was exchange one land which never belonged to Poland on anther land which never belonged to Poland too.
Show me only one European neighboring country where you're not hated????!!!!==
Hated? Look to Britain. Irland hates them for many years of occupation. SO what? If it concerns british?
Someone in Latin America hates United States. Call them "gringos". If it concerns United States?
Any europian nation sometimes war with each other. 2 World Wars went in Europe remember?
What today? It all calm down.
SO same will be with Russia.
Please read biographical note of Simon Petlura I've published in my previous post. Petlura agreed to recognize Polish right to Lwow in turn of Pilsudski's support against Red Army bolshevicks. It was Polish-Ukrainian federation against the bolshevicks. Again, after the battle of Warsaw Petlura was to weak to struggle alone with Red Army and Ukrainian nationalism wasn't strong enough then to hold the battle for full independence on their own. Which is actually a pity - Ukrainians deserved their independence then.
