White women lag in pay among college graduates
Associated Press Posted March 28 2005
WASHINGTON -- Black and Asian women with bachelor's degrees earn slightly more than similarly educated white women.
A white woman with a bachelor's degree typically earned nearly $37,800 in 2003, compared with nearly $43,700 for a college-educated Asian woman and $41,100 for a college-educated black woman, according to data being released Monday by the Census Bureau. Hispanic women earned $37,600 a year.
The bureau did not say why.

1. Professional black women are more likely to be single than professional white women, based on admittedly anecdotal evidence.
2. Asian women are more likely to enter highly skilled professions that pay more.
What kills women's earnings in general is their tendency to have babies.

Among men, a white with a college diploma earned in excess of $66,000 a year, according to the Census Bureau. Asians earned more than $52,000 a year, Hispanics earned $49,000 and blacks more than $45,000. It would be interesting to see how the "Asian" and "Hispanic" categories breakdown by ethnicity. East Indian Americans tend to go into professions like finance and medicine (particularly in the second generation), while the first generation has a disproportionate amount of entrepreneurs.

How much of my income did the government spend to track these numbers, and who is responsible so I can go kick that person's @ss and recover what they took away from my paycheck?

I'm still waiting for the results for Italo-Trinandadians.

I withdraw my empty threat to @ss-kick somebody.
I still want my money back.

It would be interesting to see how the "Asian" and "Hispanic" categories breakdown by ethnicity. The full version of this report doesn't break these categories down any further in terms of race; it goes into additional detail, however, mainly pertaining to data such as age and specific levels of education.
