I don't want to be a hotlinker, but no matter which side of this you're on, you'll have to admit that this is the funniest take on this case yet - and it's aimed squarely at us.
Yikes! I said that the other day...that's when I first found out I was associated with a certain Germanic political party; you can exfil now while you have a chance...I'll cover you 8^)
So sorry, I did not mean to offend you, please calm down. And if, you were attempting to insult me by calling me a "newby," you failed.
I do not feel funny. I feel hurt, wounded, disappointed, and sad for an innocent has been murdered with permission of our courts, which we are paying for, and we feel that have the right to believe that they will protect us all, and more especially the innocent ones amongst us. But the courts have tried to make fools of us all, pretending that a "slow death" makes it not murder!
Complain about what?
I'm simply making observations about behavior - which, BTW, you are helping to demonstrate.
And I only finally showed up on these threads when they comprised roughly 80 percent of the threads here. When JR and the site have graciously tried to consolidate it at the top of the main page for all who pay attention to see, I find that both self-centered and inconsiderate.
Heavenly Father - We pray for Your comfort and peace to be with our little sister, Theresa Marie Schindler, and with her family. We ask that Terri's tormenters be brought to justice. In the Precious Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Covering up his malfeasance with her guardianship funds.
BTW, I disagree. I know atheists who support reinserting Terri's feeding tube, and I know Christians who do not. I think one of the problems we're seeing on this forum is the need for black or white stereotypes that's coming from both sides of the debate.
This is soooo horrific. I am ashamed.
You're right - it is only your opinion.
None of the speculation about MS has been proven - which is supposed to be how it works. Instead, those who don't agree are showing him the same amount of consideration as they are showing their fellow posters here.
But that's not really here nor there, as I haven't offered any opinion other than those stated in my original post.
You see, I only speak to what I know for sure, and don't join in with additional hysterical/unproven statements.
"Yeah, but it's getting kinda ugly in here"
can i resist? arrrghhh, sorta like a catfight, eh? ;-)
We have to cover each other like one of those Buddy flicks, I guess. I got that "just following orders" crap too with suggestions about German politics, Chinese politics, late last century Russian politics, ad nauseum.
The parallel is insulting and specious (and very DU-like).
If I'm wrong, no great harm. If you're wrong, you just rooted for the murder of an innocent person. HELLO?!
Or, perhaps, we believe based on real live medical facts, and medical images of her brain, that have been released.
Sure, those images are old, but ya know, maybe it's just me being stupid, but once parts of the brain die and break off and get replaced by CSF, it doesn't grow back magically years later...
You are right about our divergence of opinion, and that's ok. Differences in opinion are not only part of being an adult human, but necessary IMO.
And the difference that you and I have only further strengthens one of my original opinnions: Make your wishes known, and get it in writing.
And as far as Terri's situation is concerned, I can only say this. I don't feel it's any of our business, and I'm certainly not comfortable with running to the legislators with this very personal and traumatic issue.
But that's simply an opinion, for which I'm sure to recieve some more lovely sentiments here.
And what would I have to apologize for? Wanting to be absolutely sure before ending someone's life? Wow, that is a 'heinous' crime. Now if you're wrong, what are you going to do, a resurrection?
Dr. Peter Morin, an academic neurologist who studies degenerative brain diseases, had become upon hearing that the PVS diagnosis in this case had been made without the benefit of rudimentary tests, such as functional magnetic resonance imaging or a positron emission tomography scan. Thats criminal, Morin said.
A normal doctor, not a death ghoul like Cranford ("alhtimers patients should be starved") .
You are right. I should have added an "and" in between the "God-loving vs God-less" and "Good vs. evil."
I did not mean to imply that atheists are not capable of being moral or compassionate. If I believed that I would hardly have chosen to become a missionary (32+ years ago.)
My name on this forum was first "Jesse." Then a couple of years ago I had a similar "couldn't get in" episode and so posted as "Anij" after that - but generally signed my posts as "Jesse," which is my real name.
My tagline has been the same for years.
I apologize if I offended any non-believers by wording that sentence the way I did. I do still stand behind the rest of my post though. FWIW - Jesse.
For what it's worth Saundra, I join you in your prayers for Terri and her family.
I am getting quite tired, however of being made to feel like scum if my life does continue, I don't have Terri Schiavo on my mind 24/7 or if God forbid I find humor in a photo that shows (quite accurately, I might add) the consistent pounding each of us has taken if we don't fall on the side of "the pounder". If I offended you, I do sincerely apologize.... But, please do NOT send me a 'back handed" prayer in the efforts to make me think i need YOU to save my soul....
And, if you tell me that was not your intention, then you are lying!
