Putting libs and conservatives in the same area of arguing irrationally must include specifics. Comparing murder to twisting an arm is the comparison.
"No, when anyone is so radicalized, on any side of an issue, that civil discourse is no longer possible, then it is time to stop the losses and the subjecting of ones'self to further abuse...By walking away, and writing them off."
If that's how your friends and family react to political differences, then perhaps they should seek counciling...it sounds as though there are deeper issues than politics itself if they are that violent towards a simple opinion. I didn't intend to blast you with my first comment; it just seems a little ridiculous (at first glance) to suggest writing off the people who are important to you simply because of their political opinions. I do agree, however, that extreme views on any side of an argument can be quite a problem when they mix with emotions.
In the future, just Google "socialism +monsters", and you can find it again.
For me, the most significant aspect of the post is not what the NAZI's did, but how liberals have managed to indoctrinate at least two generations of Americans with a false political scale; where Communism is "left" and Nazism is "right.
Barbra Striesand.
A proper scale measures opposites. Hot versus cold. Positive versus negative.
And since Communism and Nazism are both top-down totalitarean, "close-cousin", forms of dictatorships, they cannot, by definition, occupy opposite ends of a true political spectrum, but only a false, misleading and fradulent "political spectrum.
