Geez. Sounds like the POTUS waited until after the election to make this move. I'm really kinda surprised, given State Department involvement, that this news didn't hit the media full force in Sep/Oct 04 as a "Bush intelligence failure."

I love tough women. Margaret Thatcher is my hero (heroine), but where do we find these idiots we keep sending out as ambassadors. It was some dumb broad American ambassatrix who told Sadaam that it would be cool to invade Kuwait. Now we get this one.

Fire her for disobeying an order and violating U. S. Government policy, take away her pension and put her in the stockade without her loverly partner (maybe have Big Bubba in with her, Bubba not be too discriminating.)

I'm still wondering WHY she didn't distribute the material. Was it incompetence or a chip on her shoulder? You can't tell me "she was just too busy with other things on the agenda". This was done deliberately to compromise someone else's plan.

She must be required to explain why she chose to do this and she should be charged with something. This is an outrage.

Sounds to me like somebody ought to be doing some jail time.

Of course, what "ought to be" and "what is" are two different things. The worst thing she will experience is losing her job.

This makes me so mad I want to . . . . . . . do something!!

I wrote here a few times about people like this working for the State Department - there are several - many were very vocal in their objection to the Iraq war and have promised that they will do everything in their power to thwart the work of the US government.

Are we (the State dept) deliberately trying to irritate and alienate the Arab/Muslim world with our politically-corrupt appointments to that region? Just how many "woman" ambassadors and high officials are we going to send to a region that is as culturally backwards and male-dominated/male-entrenched as that area - Is the State Dept trying to "teach them a lesson" by sending liberal/non-religious/white women to be our ambassadors and negotiators?

Thanks for the post.

I'm not shocked. I'm glad that vermin moles like this are being dug up.

Is this not a treasonous act by an enemy within?

I toast PRESIDENT BUSH and our new Secretary of State.

Surely there are more moles like this one ... Condi, You GO, Girl!

The Paki's must have just LOVED this "Butch" looking representative of western Infidel decadence and fugitive from the Jerry Springer Show.. With Powell as Sec. of State.. at the time.. Powell must've chosen her too.. at least OK'd her appointment..

Don't say much for Powell's deductive powers..

More info on Rewards For Justice and past success in Pakistan in addition to the Kansai case:

A matchbook cover advertisement was also the instrument to obtain key information on Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, one of those responsible for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center in New York City. As with Kansi, Yousef was captured in Pakistan. He was subsequently extradited to the United States, tried and convicted for his part in the bombing and is now in prison.

Link

And then there is the Khalid Shaikh Mohammed case...KSM was arrested March 01, 2003 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan and, according to the following link, a reward was paid for info leading to KSM's arrest. Info came from a suspect in custody.

Link

That program - known as Rewards for Justice - was discontinued in Pakistan prior to Ms. Powell's 2002 arrival because it was ''ineffective,'' the senior [State Department] official said.

US Ambassador to Pakistan prior to Powell was Wendy J. Chamberlain.

STATE demartment institutional crisis.

There must be a purge of the career hacks at the state department. They are still fighting for the survival of the USSR.
