Injury Report Prompted Schiavo Cremation Plans

Michael Schiavo decided to have his wife's body cremated after her parents' lawyers obtained medical records showing she had sustained broken bones, a nurse who cared for Terri Schiavo is now claiming.

"He wanted her cremated after the bone fractures and dislocations were found," nurse Carla Sauer Iyer, who cared for Terri in the mid-1990s while she was at the Palm Gardens Convalescent Center, told ABC Radio host Sean Hannity on Friday.

"He immediately went to court and [said he] wanted her body cremated at that time," she said, "after we got hold of the records that proved there were dislocations and fractures."

A 1991 report on a bone scan performed on Terri Schiavo states:

"There are an extensive number of focal abnormal areas ... These include: multiple bilateral ribs ... both sacroiliac joints ... both knees and both ankles."

Radiographs reveal "compression fractures" of the spine and right femur. ... "Compression fracture presumably traumatic," the report says.

Nurse Iyer said she recently contacted Palm Gardens to encourage co-workers who also cared for Terri to speak out - but said they have been muzzled.

"The administrator had gotten them together and they talked about what happened with Michael," Iyer told Hannity. "The people who have worked with Terri who are still there, they cannot talk to reporters - they would be terminated."

So funny how FReepers who are usually so suspicions of corrupted government officials and the MSM line have seemed to buy anything these back water buddies in Pinellas County throw at them.

So correct.

I have seen, in the past week or so, some of the best minds on FR completely lose their senses, I mean their "senses" to sense wrong, to sense immorality, to sense evil! It is truly amazing!

How did Terri have a favorite nurse? She's in a PVS and doesn't have a favorite anything.

What's been amazing to me is to see Freepers reject the under oath testimony of neurologists (double digits), doctors (double digits), nurses and therapists.

And instead go with unsourced doctors, nurses and therapists. Some of the "nurses" have been exposed as not even in the nursing profession. LOL

But hey, it's more fun than reading boring court testimony. Everybody understands that.

From Buckhead to this in 6 months. We're in freefall. And the Democrats are loving it.

Somehow I suspect that the judge's and Michael's "quality of life" will never be quite the same.

They better get aliases, facial reconstruction, and a new location for the rest of their rotten, evil lives.

Let's make it simple. How do you explain the long list of therapies and comforts that Michael deprived his wife for years? Do you think that guy had his wife's best interests in mind?

And please don't make a God out of Buckhead. He's a smart and very likeable fellow, but five minutes later (or in less time) someone else would have noted the same thing he did after the '60 Too Many Minutes' report. He was merely first to note it.

And your continual laments about FR going downhill since Rathergate seem just laughable faux sentimentality. FR will alway be the greatest site in the country, as the liberals like to say, "a bastion of rightwing lunacy." There will always be excellent fact finding here, excellent efforts for conservative and Constitutional values, but at the same time there will be the other wise ones who have their senses about people.

See post # 238 for some sense.

Peach, if you think this guy Michael Schiavo is clean, I must admit, I would be confounded.

Please be well.

I don't want to argue this point with you. We see things differently.

For years, doctors and families have made the decision to remove feeding tubes without court intervention or Congress's intervention.

You may not like it, but then change the laws or make sure that you have made your wishes completely clear. Spell it out in a legal document that no one in your family has permission to take you off a feeding tube or other life support even if it's 15 years and no hope.

If you ask me tomorrow, I will find the link for you. But I have other pings to attend to right now :-)

But, did you know that in 1993 the doctors recommended that Michael remove the feeding tube? He could have done so as her husband. But he didn't want to do that. He asked the courts to make that decision. And they did. ANd the courts noted in one of their court documents, and I can find the link for you tomorrow, I've linked it many times over the last week, that MS actually lessened his position because he asked the courts to be involved. That involvement gave her parents a standing they did not have before.

The doctors also told him that further therapy was useless. They wouldn't be recommending therapy AND telling him it was time to remove the tube.

So, we aren't going to agree on this matter and let's just leave it alone for now. You be well too and have a good evening.

And instead go with unsourced doctors, nurses and therapists.

You and your (unimpeachable) sources. lol.

Take my buddy Patrick Knowlton.

Speaking of "unsourced"......... Patrick and his lawyers (John Clarke, etc.) had to fight like heck to get his testimony as an addendum to the Starr Report (the addendum that few citizens read).

Remember, sources are only sources if someone listens to them.

Oops, I wrote you the last post before we were "signing off" on this Schiavo issue. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on this.

Anyhow, I appreciate your continual level-headedness. You are a credit to this excellent site!

Thank you.

Although others disagree. I've been here for 7 years and one night I said some things that people took the wrong way and I've lost friends over it.

So I'm trying to be more calm. LOL

Oops. We just said goodnight but I'll add one more thing and be quiet.

(And reading that about the Starr report brought back memories and not good ones, in general. LOL)

In 2002, the Schindlers were given the opportunity to bring two doctors to the table, MS brought 2 and a court appointed doctor was also brought in.

That's why I think you should read the Wolfson Report (Maybe you did and I've forgotten?). And the court testimony of those two doctors. It was sad. For the Schindlers. If they hadn't used alternative medicine doctors, one of whom advertises in the National Enquirer, and brought on mainstream doctors, maybe we wouldn't be here today.

But I believe they did that because they wanted someone, anyone to say there was hope. And none of the other doctors said there was hope. Ever.

My two cents. Talk to you tomorrow, I'm sure.

Terri is also partially blind. One eye cannot see much at all, IIRC.

And she reacts to people she recognizes (ahhhh... she recognizes!) and will not look at or do tricks for those she has learned to distrust. She know they are trying to kill her.

She reacted almost violently to hearing they were going to pull her plug ,,,,again. It doesn't matter what she was able to vocalize. That she did is awareness of the situation.

You are miraculously calm.

Pardon me for asking, but about how old are you and are you female?

Have you (like me) ever felt the need to know more of the posters that you are "speaking" with on here. I do. I always find in day to day life that it's easier to understand what someone says if you know something about them first. Now I say this with a little whim, but I would wish that FR suggested that all FReepers put their age, sex, marital status, education, hobbies, and location on their profile page. Wouldn't that be helpful? ;-)

It's funny, I nearly always assume that I'm talking to a male unless the poster's name is "sexysally" or "LauraTheLibrarian". I have often been surprised to find that for months I was actually talking with a girl rather than a guy.

Anyhow, if you feel like telling me something about yourself so I can get a little sense of you, please do it privately if you would. Thank you.

BIOETHICS= Where a scientist is appointed to decide whether it is moral to do scientific experiments on a human.

EUTHANASIA=Legal Suicide, but you have to get a doctor's note!

Have you heard that Felos has said that Michael is requesting an autopsy to lay the rumors to rest?

Michael and Felos, at least legally, have nothing to do with whether or not there is an autopsy. Felos is saying so because he got legal notice that the ME was going to release to the press that he would conduct one, due to the CT Scans done 53 weeks after her injury. A reasonable suspicion, I believe.

According to Florida State Law it is up to the ME to decide on an autopsy, especially in the case of Cremation.

It is out of Michael's and Felo's hands, and they know it. They are trying to make the best out of what will happen, and in truth, none of us know for sure what that will be.

So, the Hospice has no problems with mice?

The Hospice has not been cited with being 'indigent'?

The Hospice is not being pursued by Dept. Of Health and Human Services for over $14 million in scammed Medicare funds for taking in over 150 patients "DIAGNOSED" as terminally ill.

These elderly patients, upon having another medical exam by a different doctor, were found not to be terminally ill.

Felos filed an appeal to keep it at bay while he deals with this case.

I don't know about any of that stuff. I know the hospice, like all or most hospices, is a non-profit.
