Let's make it simple. How do you explain the long list of therapies and comforts that Michael deprived his wife for years? Do you think that guy had his wife's best interests in mind?

And please don't make a God out of Buckhead. He's a smart and very likeable fellow, but five minutes later (or in less time) someone else would have noted the same thing he did after the '60 Too Many Minutes' report. He was merely first to note it.

And your continual laments about FR going downhill since Rathergate seem just laughable faux sentimentality. FR will alway be the greatest site in the country, as the liberals like to say, "a bastion of rightwing lunacy." There will always be excellent fact finding here, excellent efforts for conservative and Constitutional values, but at the same time there will be the other wise ones who have their senses about people.

See post # 238 for some sense.

Peach, if you think this guy Michael Schiavo is clean, I must admit, I would be confounded.

Please be well.

I don't want to argue this point with you. We see things differently.

For years, doctors and families have made the decision to remove feeding tubes without court intervention or Congress's intervention.

You may not like it, but then change the laws or make sure that you have made your wishes completely clear. Spell it out in a legal document that no one in your family has permission to take you off a feeding tube or other life support even if it's 15 years and no hope.

If you ask me tomorrow, I will find the link for you. But I have other pings to attend to right now :-)

But, did you know that in 1993 the doctors recommended that Michael remove the feeding tube? He could have done so as her husband. But he didn't want to do that. He asked the courts to make that decision. And they did. ANd the courts noted in one of their court documents, and I can find the link for you tomorrow, I've linked it many times over the last week, that MS actually lessened his position because he asked the courts to be involved. That involvement gave her parents a standing they did not have before.

The doctors also told him that further therapy was useless. They wouldn't be recommending therapy AND telling him it was time to remove the tube.

So, we aren't going to agree on this matter and let's just leave it alone for now. You be well too and have a good evening.
