The doctors are attempting to move my son, Henry, from an oscillating venilator to a standard venilator. Normally, this would be a good development, but Henry is really struggling right now - I just got home from the hospital and my wife called from there (she's the night shift tonight).
Any prayers or good thoughts you can send his way would be greatly appreciated.
Prayers for Henry, may God give him strength to recover and prayers for the doctors to do the right thing to help him.
Prayers for Henry's health and peace and strength for you and your wife.

Hello Salo:
A prayer for Henry and some words of encouragement for you...I was a NICU nurse for 10 years...took care of many little ones on the oscillator, jet, and conventional vents.
Don't be discouraged if the process of switching Henry to the conventional vent takes several attempts...sometimes they do well at first, then tire after a while and have to go back on the oscillator...repeating again and again and putting Mommy and Daddy on an emotional roller coaster.
But the vast, vast majority slowly but surely come off the oscillator, then off the conventional, and inch their way toward room air, bottle feedings, and HOME!

Salo, My prayers go up for your child, and your family . God's healing hand over baby Henry. Lord, please grant healing for Henry. Surround him with your angels. Provide his family with comfort and peace. Take away their fear. Surround them with your love. In Jesus' precious name. Amen

Prayers going up for Henry but don't let it discourage you if he goes back on oscillating vent. Sometimes the lungs need the workouts to get them ready for regular vent, then from regular vent to just O2. He's just tuckering out cause reg. vent makes him do more work for himself. It's like training, his little lungs have to get used to the extra work. If he goes back on oscillating it's not a setback, just a rest.

Heavenly Father, we return to thank You for the presence of Your healing hand upon this dear sweet babe ... transition him, O Lord, without great stress ... prosper him throughout the night and through the days ... strengthen him with each milestone, until he is safely home with his beloved mom and dad. Encourage their hearts in these moments of great stress, for great is Your love for this family. In the Name of Jesus, we pray, Amen ...
