After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
This is repulsive. Waiting for someone to die of a lack of water.
I think it would be much more economical to just line up all old, frail, handicapped people - you know the type (useless eaters) - and shoot 'em. Every last one of them. Right through the head. Then drop their bodies in a mass grave - you know like they did with the Jews - and get rid of them all at once. Your method is too costly and would take too much time.
We could label my method: The Judge Greer Final Solution.
Great idea!
Even before Terri, Social Security reform was dead, according to Senate Finance Chairman Charles Grassley, R-IA. The votes were never there.
"I think GW just exposed his way to reform social security."
good point....you never know..
We did also pray for Felos, Michael, Greer, et al . . . and for people to rise up from the hospice and the community to speak the truth about Terri.
Is there a prayer thread going right now?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cyn, we did have a prayer chain going several weeks ago, but we started spontaneously praying here, in a marvelous outpouring last week. I will find the old prayer thread and add it back here. Polly ps. Yes PRAYING, PRAYING for Supernatural touch on Terri's body. Thank God He is not limited to our puny ideas and ways.
it's not a falsehood.. it's a fact. Greer is a county probate judge, technically he is also a state judge.. go look it up for yourself..
And so taking yet another opportunity to pray for God's power to confound the doctors. Please Lord, keep Terri's organs healthy and feed her with supernatural food and water. Keep her Lord we pray. In Jesus name.
Means he probably has wider authority than some of us thought he did, based on the legal practices and titles in our own states...his rulings would have more impact and authority than a county level judge, which is what I thought he was at first.
I think so too...repulsive, and against the ways of mercy which tell me to give drink to the thirsty as one of my religious obligations, asked for by Jesus...
In order to receive Holy Communion, a person must be alert and cognizant of what he/she is doing. Feeding tube aside, the person must be able to open his/her mouth.
PVS, no. Coma, no.
Furthermore (we really need an 'edit' feature on this board), it wouldn't matter if he were on the FL supreme court, he cannot break laws or make laws up as he goes along. Just because he speaks, does not make it law. He has been doing both. He cannot ignore congressional subpoenas, He cannot order state officials not to enforce state statutes (his very words). He is breaking the law.
Therefore everything he says should be considered ivalid.
I just find it ironic that Jeb is governor of the state with the most retired elderly folks per capita, sneaks a euthanasia bill under Floridians noses in 99, and now GW and Jeb have stepped back and washed their hands of the matter after showing everyone that they "really tried." I'm just praying that we've not had the wool pulled over our eyes.
And how do you suggest that they enforce it at this point seeing that the courts and the law enforcement are working against them?
Pain? What pain?
I know, I have though the exact same thing...notice too that GWB has not said a word as to the Terri situation lately, although he knows his nation and the world are outraged by all this...
They need a judicial review system with teeth in it in Florida...and no doubt all the states.
Praying for Terri.
Poor Mr. Schindler looks like he's aged 20 years in the last 10 days. Prayers for the Schindlers, as well.
Yep, our leader has just dissappeared on this issue and is being silent! COWARD!
