After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
Lord, we again lift Terri up to you and thank you with all our hearts that you have brought her this far. Boggle and baffle her enemies, dear Lord, and thank you that no one can take her life unless you say so. Her life was yours to give and it is Yours to take in Your time. Keep her safe, feed her, give her water, keep her free of pain, and let no weapon formed against her prosper. In Jesus name.
Yes, Agreeing with you before our Father!! Spare this lamb.
He needs a good scything (sic?)
Well, WHERE ARE THEY???? "SHOULD" IS DOWN THE ROAD A PIECE FROM "WILL".
Amen ...
Justice delayed is justice denied.
Forgive me if I misunderstand. But did she say anything remotely similar to this? It's late but I'd certainly welcome her with open arms to this.
Fox saying if the 11th agrees to hear the appeal, that the feeding tube will be restarted immediately.
Has anyone seen a copy of the appeal?
Whoah! Praise God if this is true.
I hope and pray that he doesn't get away with this.
I'm gonna think POSITIVE here just for a few moments. I am going to assume and believe that Terri will continue to be kept alive by power that we cannot even perceive and see, kept alive past what doctors usually hold out as hope, and kept alive just enough to allow a court or legislative body to rule in her favor. Then I am going to watch politicians swarm like RATS in favor of Terri (as she is fed and re-hydrated and makes some recovery), knowing and sensing that public opinion is shifting--because of new facts and a deeper interest by the people, and seeing that the PR train is leaving the political station, and they are being left behind.
Then, I'll develop a time line chart to show just at which time various politicos or religious leaders finally stepped up and weighed in on this moral issue and in favor of Terri. I want all of their support, but I think in the aftermath we need who was with us from the beginnings, and who were just Johnny and Jane Come Latelys, trying to hog the spotlight for more votes and security to keep their elective positions.
I heard her say that the government was correct to get involved in Terris case.
BTW, forgive me but I hope the Florida Senate chokes on their lunch.
They've done a good job of spreading fear amongst the medical community, a fear of malpractice suits if they dare help Terri, even with an Executive Order in hand.
Can't confirm if this is true for 2005 but it was true in 2003.
I believe with all my heart that it is the Lord keeping her alive right now.
I hadn't considered that possibility. Come on Jesse, raise the roof!
Mikey Shiavo and his little sweety, Jodi, will be very interesting when this is all over. Not for me, but they will bear observing.
The thing that truly puzzles me about this is the abnormality of it. When Mikey took up with Jodi, if the Schindlers had wanted to take Terri and take care of her for the rest of her life, it should have been no skin off his nose. In fact, in this country if any of us wanted to buy a Breeko block or a basket of turnips, make them a little altar in our homes, light candles and bring offerings of kumquat fruit to them every day and pray to them, we have the right to give our all to the endeavor of our choosing. Mikey chose not to give anything more to Terri, no rehab, allegedly nothing, but Terri's family wanted her - he didn't any more. - A lot has been said about Mikey's controlling nature, and I wonder if anyone has addressed that aspect from an angle of personal knowledge.
Me too. I saw one the other day I thought was written by you. :)
I just found another one that looks like it's for Terri:
"Beam me up scottie.
This is one barren planet.
Will not support life."
Dawn Miller
She said this in Afghanistan. was just reported. Laura looks like she's as weary as we are, weary for Terri and her family and imagine that she may have a lot of bottled up righteous anger.
By me? That's interesting! :-D
