After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.

Well I don' think he would leave if she was on the brink of Heaven. I think the fact that Mr. Schindler left might give us a bit of hope. Perhaps our prayers were granted, who knows... That is what my hopes were, as well.

No, I think that was the only one, 1991.

That is Terri's main problem, people project their own wishes on Terri, they do not look for the truth, in that it is clear and convincing that being starved to death is what Terri would have wanted.
I agree totally! Even the 2nd DCA projected their own feelings by ASSUMING what Terri would do or want:
In the final analysis, the difficult question that faced the trial court was whether Theresa Marie Schindler Schiavo, not after a few weeks in a coma, but after ten years in a persistent vegetative state that has robbed her of most of her cerebrum and all but the most instinctive of neurological functions, with no hope of a medical cure but with sufficient money and strength of body to live indefinitely, would choose to continue the constant nursing care and the supporting tubes in hopes that a miracle would somehow recreate her missing brain tissue, or whether she would wish to permit a natural death process to take its course and for her family members and loved ones to be free to continue their lives. After due consideration, we conclude that the trial judge had clear and convincing evidence to answer this question as he did.
Were they supposed to rule on if "she didn't want to live this way" or if "she didn't to inconvience her family members"? What a large assumption they made when they made that statement. That one's always bothered me because I never heard of any testimony about what Terri would want for others, KWIM?

(With up to a 43% error rate in diagnosing, FL Statute should NOT include PVS.)

Yes, she would say "stop" when the therapy was too much sometimes.
Strange, isn't it? I thought she was completely out of it...
An awful lot of people have an awful lot to answer for.
This is a dreadful miscarriage of justice.

I must have made the sign too big. :)
"LET'S HEAD FOR BILOXI, EVERYBODY!"
Great beaches there. Lots of good attractions too. Retirees and snowbirds like it. (Those were hints to the now boycotted Florida tourist industry...)

I would say. And there better be people willing to go after this; justice demands it.

FREEPIES, I'M HOME: Here's the latest. It was chilly this evening at Hospice Woodside. There are people who just won't leave Terri. People will stand or sit there all night.
Jesse Jackson dropped by earlier today and left, Larry Klayman just left Hospice Woodside, Sean Hannity and Rick Santorum are still hanging around the media side of the street. Randall Terry and Gary McCullough are still hanging around.
I just shook Senator Santorum's hand. I don't know if his trip to see Terri's parents was a social call or if he was on a fact finding trip. A few weeks back Santorum did state that this "would not happen on his watch" for what it's worth.
Terri's family was in good spirits tonight. Bobby, Terri's brother was preparing to do some interviews.
IMPORTANT: IF ANYONE IS COMING TO HOSPICE WOODSIDE, THE WINN DIXIE PARKING LOT IS TOWING CARS. FV

Hi
Any word on how Terri is doing? And is there any buzz about a new Terri bill?
Thank you for the reports, by the way.

"On your graphic (you ad phil make the best ones) of the road signs, how about the left hand sign saying something with "Dead End" in it??? Just a suggestion not a criticism."
I do the simple stuff. Phil's da man. Hmmm... I might try one with "Dead End" in it. Interesting idea.
I've got one already with "No Exit". I have to stagger postings because of bandwidth limitations, but it'll come around again.

Terri is holding her own but SHE LOOKS LIKE A HOLOCAUST VICTIM. I can't believe this is happening to someone who never said they wanted to die by cruel starvation and dehydration.

It's a good one. All someone needs to do is hold up that as a sign, and a powerful message will be sent.

On Monday, March 28, 2005 at approximately 11:00 am est, seven American citizens met with Representative David Simmons, Chairman of the Florida House Judiciary Committee to A. urge that our leaders save Terri's life and to declare to Representative Simmons that we didn't believe all possible had been done to save an innocent, woman from a painful, gruesome death by dehydration and starvation as ordered per a guardianship judge who lacks compassion. A guardianship judge should be compassionate whether the ward is Terri Schiavo or Jane Doe. B. demand that an exploratory committee be created regarding the impeachment of George W. Greer, Sixth Circuit Court, Pinellas County, Florida. (details being withheld at this time to protect the integrity of the process.) C. demand that Guardianship Laws in Florida are revisited In total to protect all Floridians and their families from bad law.
