After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
I've checked the timeline at Terrisfight.org but it doesn't mention when the law changed. was that 1999?
Yes, through this, I've learned about poor Lisa and saw her photos. She was also dehydrated to death and had connections with Scientology and the same circus court judges in Pinellas County....Baird, the same judge who ruled against Terri's law....everything in Pinellas is incestuous, it seems.
Pinellas was, I believe, the first county in FL to elect a Republican to Congress in the 20th Century -- 1954.
The Party's changing. The tent's too big, and Christians (and other pro-lifers) are being marginalized.
Judge Greer is a Republican.
And I still must say that Terri is more than a Party "setback."
#2782----I'm first in line for that sucker
Jesus. That's the most thoroughly disgusting segment I've ever seen Alan Colmes participate in... and that's saying a lot. Absolutely shameful behavior.
Yes, Bush signed the law making feeding tubes "extraordinary life measures" in 1999.
look on my profile page...I've got information and links to the florida statues site on it and the laws (quoted a couple of them). It is my understanding that the law was changed in 1999.
Hi ExPatInFrance. In essence, agents from the DCF (per Jeb's instructions) were on the way to the hospice when they got word of the fact that Greer and put a restraining order on them and that the law enforcement at the hospice was prepared to prevent them from taking Terri. So they turned around.
Many here are faulting Jeb for that. Personally, I think we're wasting our energy being angry at Jeb who obviously wants Terri to live, but who is unwilling to go outside of the law to do something about it. I respect his stand. I don't now if that's the choice *I* would make, but he has to live with his own conscience and what he feels the Lord is prompting or not prompting him to do.
What the hell is Colmes problem? Words can not duly express the anger I feel at this moment toward this lowlife!!!
I refuse to watch Colmes. If he was half as smart as he thinks, he would really be dangerous.
I agree; but something's got to be done to reign in rogue judges...
Phil-
You have no idea how much that made me laugh! I just wish we could put it up on TEJ!
THANK YOU!
I wonder if the decent folks down there know how badly their city politics looks from here?
There has to be some God loving folks there.
...DH watching some stupid show on TV right now... can someone please tell me what Sean Hannity is reporting on his show tonite??? TIA!
Mary
Especially after GWB made a speech about the most vulnerable amongst us. I really believed in him.
well, I'm not impressed, and haven't been for a long time now, about someone with an R after their name. It has begun to mean nothing.
#2824 ROTFLMAO---just dont take our articles without asking permission!
Haven't we all suspected Greer of impersonating a judge? And a very bad one at that.
