After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
Levin: What is motivating this judge?
Nader: Some judges dig in.
I take it you have no plans to run for judge in Pinellas County, Florida?
I find this hard to believe considering they aren't even allowed to take a Bible into the room. I heard the other day that Abrams was very pro-death on this.
Nader seems very informed about this.
"MS should just give it up."
Nader: Terri not terminal ill....being allowed to die...the law should not be used as an instrument to be used to allow someone to die.
casual statements, hearsay, alleged by her husband's side of the family which has partisan view...not clear and convincing.
guardianship status...should have been removed after he had gotten involved with another woman and had children...has his own family now
should have been resolved at courts
parents have expressed their desire/wish to take care of Terri
why does the government have an interest in letting Terri die?
Euthansia is interlocking with HMO's which want to get rid of people because it's costing money.
Disabled will find themselves pushed down the slippery slope.
Greer made his decision/dug in his feet....could have changed his mind/ judges can apply equitable principles.
MS never referred to his wife's alleged wishes until after the malpractice case.
He swore under oath that he'd take care of her; when the settlement came, he suddently took her off anti-biotics, and ever since, there's been a clash between him and her family.
He should just give it up....doesn't even have grace to her parents regarding the parents' wishes for gravesite/burial.
The Pres and his female side kick Karen something or other - they are on a PR kick. Laura off to Afghanistan. Give me a break! Underestimating the outrage out here is really stupid. Stupid! I tried to get through to Karl Rove yesterday but the White House switchboard wouldn't let me.
Jeb Bush is blowing it big time. His legacy will be that he was the last man to turn his back on Terri Schiavo in her greatest time of need and abuse . . . and he walked away while we all begged, pleaded and cried buckets. He turned his back on Terri, her family and all of us - and I dare say he thumbed his nose at God Almighty. There will be hell to pay.
Never forget.
Well, I've not always been the first to pop up on some issues either. So I don't know......
I think for now...iniatives are on the back burner for talk shows.
But he is very passionate about this
He is a voice that's speaking for me/us, on this issue.
And I'm/we're taking all we can get for Terri. ;-)
Yes, the cowardly Republican Congress cancelled the subpoenas. They said they were deferring to "court decisions."
I can't believe that one. Dan Abrams is a tiny little man with a tiny little brain.
Jesse Jackson quote: "I feel so passionate about this injustice being done, how unnecessary it is to deny her a feeding tube, water, not even ice to be used for her parched lips," he said. "This is a moral issue and it transcends politics and family disputes."
Wow. He hit it on the head right there.
I got the same thing from Abrams the other day.
Yes, Nader knows the facts.
Answer: a Florida Republican!
Right. It appears that the congress just plays games and from now on after Judge Greer used their subpoenas for toilet paper - they are just a joke. Why did those ballplayers put themselves through that ordeal. They could have told the congress to go jump in the lake.
I just heard him!! He is not mincing words, is he!!
Now Jeb understands the facts of the case, does nothing, and says he feels sorry for Michael.
Nader said to read www.wesleyjsmith.com author of the culture of death; very knowledgable
He also condemned the police being in Terri's room 24/7 and outside the hospice.
Said Greer's stubborn and isn't going to budge.
Levin said "bravo" to Nader
