Abuse Of Science Again Threatens Sanctity Of Life
The Chicago Tribune ^ | March 27, 2005 | John Kass

A newspaper story came across my desk about a special pediatrician from the enlightened and progressive Netherlands.

The story wasn't about Terri Schiavo, the brain-damaged woman from Florida who was being starved to death, but she figures into this too.

Dr. Eduard Verhagen puts children down. Actually, he doesn't really put them down. You put animals down, not human children. He doesn't put children to sleep, either.

He kills them. And he figures that if we understand his reasoning, we'll drop our old-fashioned irrational objections and agree with him. He considers those who would draw comparisons to the Holocaust as ridiculous and uninformed.

Verhagen described how he takes care of certain children painfully suffering from spina bifida. Morphine and another drug, midazolam, are given intravenously.

"The child goes to sleep," he was quoted in the March 19 edition of The New York Times. "It stops breathing."

"I mean, it's difficult to give the right emotion there, but it's beautiful in a way," he said. "They are children who are severely ill and in great pain. It is after they die that you see them relaxed for the first time. You see their faces in the way they should be for the first time."

He condemns himself by his own mouth. The story went on to say that though euthanasia of children under 12 in the Netherlands is not legal, Dr. Verhagen has documented 22 cases in the last seven years, and one estimate suggests that as many as 15 or 20 children are murdered this way each year.

Considering the Supreme Courts deference to "International Law", it won't be long before this type of thing is commonplace in America.

Oh, wait Judge Greer is already doing it here, except he hasn't gotten to the children, yet.

This "Dr." sounds alot like those "nurses" who have been locked up for killing patients. It's a mental illness. They're playing God. I imagine the euthanasia movement is full of these nuts.

Yes well Hitler opined that until a child could actually feed him/herself that they could be euthanized for the "good of the state"

By what moral authority does a the Supreme Court systematically refuse to protect the Constitutional Rights of ALL unborn Human Fetuses, assert Terri's Shiavo's, or anyone else's Constitutional Right To Die?

We need someone with the 'huevos gigante' to serve a Writ Of Mandamus* on the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold their Constitutional Duties!
