We must pass legislation in her honor to avoid similar barbaric outcomes (being starved/dehydrated to death while not in a PVS) in the future.

Be careful what you wish for. I expect the discourse to now turn to a "more humane" manner of disposing of the "useless." The courts have now proven their sovereignty in determining who shall die, and I'm sure they'll be happy to oblige those so condemned with a quicker death.

We need laws to protect life itself.

What good is legislation if activist liberal judges ignore it? Sort of like spooning water out of a sinking boat before plugging the hole. There appears to be a GOP split now and now the GOP leadership says it does not have the votes for the "nuclear option".

That is already for or against the law, depending on the patient's wishes. This case is the court wrongly concluding that the patient wanted to die, and the entire judicial apparatus supporting that outcome.

Amen. And you can bet the death crowd is working overtime to make Terri a precedent. Tragic.

My wife is a RN and said it really happens all the time. They call it a "terminal wean". Several years ago she refused to do it any more. It did not go over well with her superiors but they did not assign any more to her.

She said it is just BRUTAL and she refused to do any more. Pray for Terri.

The first thing we need to do is get rid of the pvs business. It got slipped in somewhere, and dehumanizes the person. Once being dehumanized, it makes it easier to manipulate people and the powers that be.

I don't suppose we can do that, but I am going to start calling it something else.
