I had not noticed the idiom, but I have noticed how many people are affecting a clipped British accent. Just another affectation to turn off those in fly-over country imho.

I've also noticed that many Americans have a tendency to attempt to "talk British" when around Brits. That is SO annoying. Pommy wannabes!

Besides, its such a faggy accent anyway.
