Michael Schiavo Plans to Cremate Terri
Michael Schiavo has taken steps that will prevent investigators from examining Terri Schiavo's body for evidence of abuse after she dies a suspicion her family has repeatedly raised as her death grows more imminent.
Schiavo's attorney George Felos told the Washington Post on Friday that Terri will be cremated and buried in a plot owned by Michael's family in Pennsylvania.
Terri's parents had filed a request with the court to block the cremation plans, saying it would violate the religious beliefs of their daughter, who was a practicing a Catholic.
But as with every other motion filed in the case on behalf of Bob and Mary Schindler, the Florida courts have rejected the request.
A 1991 bone scan performed on Terri Schiavo showed unexplained injuries to her vertebrae and legs.
Terri's brother, Bobby Schindler, told Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes" on Thursday that a doctor has testified that she might have been strangled before she was found unconscious in her home in February 1990.

Perhaps (just perhaps) Terri was raised with the "old"
Catholic belief about cremation. She did attend Catholic school in Pennsylvania. Who would know better than her parents.
Of course, we now know that after Michael's lawyer slipped Judge Greer a few bucks.....somehow the cards got stacked against Terri and her family.
Just wondering: If a couple had just separated, but not divorced, because the husband had acknowledged that he was "gay" and the wife would not tolerate that.....because they
were still legally married, would Judge Greer allow the wife to make the "life or death decision" if the husband was in the same condition as Terri Schiavo? Wonder what the "polls"
would show on that one!!

No expressed verse in the Bible but the Jewish people never practiced cremation. Unheard of in the days of the Bible.

I didn't say anything about giving up her "faith," I was talking about her
leaving her family and joining her husband and his family when a woman marries.
I did same when I married 46 yrs. ago.
I have belonged to hubby's family and name since that day.
I will be buried w/that family.

Michael is in a relationship with another woman with whom he sired two children. It's none of my business.
Nor will I try and make it my business.

He who shed a man's blood must likewise pay the price.

The real objection most people have is not so much religious as the chance to investigate possible murder attempts on her. His plan to cremate her, was it planned after bone scan evidence came out?

Keeping Terri isolated. No videos. What is there to hide?
Minimum Care.
Refusing communion until court order to be done by tube only.
Same for last rites.
Cremation.
Grave out of state, away from the parents.
Relentless pursuit for ten years to put someone to death.
These are facts. No speculation.
These are the acts of someone with anger. Someone who wants vengeance.
Against Terri? Against the Parents?
Only Michael knows.

The Medical Examiner Law
Jurisdiction : The District Twenty Medical Examiner functions under the jurisdiction of Florida Statute 406, Medical Examiner Law. The paragraph most applicable to the Medical Examiner is Florida Statutes 406.11 which deals with jurisdiction.
Florida Statute 406.11 Examinations, Investigations and Autopsies. In any of the following circumstances involving the death of a human being, the Medical Examiner of the district in which the death occurred or the body was found shall determine the cause of death and shall make or have performed such examinations, investigations and autopsies as he shall deem necessary or as shall be requested by the State Attorney.
a) When any person dies in the state:
Of Criminal Violence: All injury-related deaths that have a criminal origin are Medical Examiner cases. Suspected criminal violence may also require investigation in cooperation with the appropriate police agency.
By Accident: All cases where there is a possible connection between an accidental injury and a death come under the jurisdiction of the Medical Examiner. This includes motor vehicle and accidental deaths in the work place or home. There are no time limitations concerning such cases.
By Suicide: All intentional, self-inflicted injuries, regardless of the time lapsed which leads to death, are Medical Examiner cases. In any instance where there is a question as to a jurisdiction, pertinent and relative facts will be obtained, i.e., medical history (if any), and referred to the Medical Examiner on call for a decision.
Suddenly, When in Apparent Good Health: Anyone who dies suddenly, in apparent good health, will become a Medical Examiner case and be investigated.
Unattended by a Practicing Physician or Other Recognized Practitioner: Anyone who dies without an attending physician will become a Medical Examiner case and be investigated.
In Prison or Penal Institution: All deaths in federal, state, county and city jails or other security facilities in Collier County are Medical Examiner cases and will be fully investigated by this Office.
In Police Custody: The death of any person held by the police is a Medical Examiner case and will be fully investigated.
In Suspicious or Unusual Circumstance: Should facts of a reported death appear inconsistent with other information received, the case will be referred to the Medical Examiner on call. Factors to consider in such cases are: degree of injury inconsistent with reported manner or method of death; a situation liable to result in public allegations of misdeeds. The latter would include deaths occurring after minor altercations; and deaths, though otherwise of an apparently natural cause, that occur in unusual locations.
By Criminal Abortion: All criminal abortions will be fully investigated, e.g., abortions in late pregnancy or abortions with unusual complications.
By Poison: All deaths suspected of being poisonings will be investigated by the Medical Examiner. Sudden deaths after the fumigation of a house, agriculture spraying of a field, or other instances where contact with poisonous substances is great are illustrations of Medical Examiner cases.
By Disease Constituting a Threat to Public Health: Any disease involving a contagious disease whose diagnosis is not firmly established will be investigated. Any other infectious disease death will be investigated when so requested by the Collier County Department of Public Health or the State Health Officer (even if the diagnosis is not firmly established). These include, but are not limited to: meningitis, tuberculosis, hepatitis, rabies, and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). In such cases, all information (including suspicions) will be obtained. Later, if a disease is diagnosed by a Medical Examiner as contagious, the Medical Examiner responsible for the case will relay this information about the diagnosis to other effected jurisdictions, such as the Public Health Department, the police, medical rescue personnel, and other involved.
By Disease, Injury or Toxic Agent Resulting From Employment: Any work-related injury resulting in death will be investigated by the Medical Examiner. This includes disease processes caused by work exposures, e.g., cancers caused by asbestos in shipyard workers and plasterers. In acute injury cases, whether the body has been moved or not, a Medical Examiner will respond to the scene of injury. In cases where death has not yet occurred but appears imminent, a Medical Examiner will, likewise, be sent to the scene of injury.
b) When a Dead Body is Brought into the State Without Proper Certification: All bodies brought into Collier County from other jurisdictions without prior proper medical certification will be certified by this Office. This means that a proper death certificate has not been filed in another state or country. All such foreign certified cases should have transit permission documents but need not be accompanied by a death certificate per se. Past medical history and history of factors leading to death must be obtained. The body will be brought into the Medical Examiner's facility for examination, unless made unavailable by premature disposal.
c) When a Body is to be Cremated, Dissected or Buried at Sea: Whenever a body is to be disposed of (in such a fashion as to make its later examination impossible), the State of Florida Death Certificate will be reviewed and approved by a Medical Examiner.

I have heard a lot of the pundits say that the main "lesson" from this whole "episode" is that everyone should have a Living Will--
Well first of all, I don't think anyone can anticipate at 20 what they would want at 40 or 60, or what medical advances might be available to them at those ages, so I disagree...
Ironically, what a lot of people might "learn" from this, is to not legally come under the husband's control---just like some on this thread, saying that she is now a "Schiavo" and not a Schindler so he has a right---
I like your a idea of a separate memorial, but you and I know that it isn't the same---her mother prolly has scars from giving birth to that precious soul, and I know even the Bible has teachings about leaving your family and joining your husband, but I don't know if even HE anticipated the evilness of MS and Felos and Greer!
