I am a high school student in Upper township, NJ where the French Immersion program drama is going on. In my oppinion it is rediculous that 47 individuals can propose for a French Immersion Charter School. It is very selfish. If they want a school, THEY SHOULD PAY FOR IT. Upper Township is a great school district. There is no reason those children could not go to the schools provided for them. If you want your child to learn in french, go to canada!

In my opinion, you should concentrate on your English studies. Your spelling and grammar are in need of improvement. Your time would be far better spent in that pursuit.
Maybe they've implemented it so you can mingle with all the French Canadians who visit Cape May. /s
I can't see why any guy would want to learn french. Every guy I see speaking french looks really gay.
What`s a French immersion program? A program where they teach methods of surrender?

You haven't seen me speaking French, then. Or Russian. Or Spanish.
So you say you live in New Jersey. But your FR home page shows a Jamaican flag, not the New Jersey state flag.
And you just joined today...
He's a silly rabbit, with nothing better to do than post vanities here on his first day. As I pointed out, his English needs a little work.
Immersion programs are the only way to learn a foreign language, IMO. I took French, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian and later German this way.
and that means anything?
They're excellent. I went through a very extensive one in Russian while in the USAF. My other languages were learned otherwise.
English, on the other hand, I learned at my mom's knee.
The mission of the Milwaukee French Immersion School is to accomplish excellence and equity for our multicultural student population. We seek to fulfill these goals by instilling within each student a positive attitude toward self and learning; the ability to think creatively and critically; the ability to communicate effectively; an understanding and appreciation of diversity in people, culture and languages; an appreciation of the arts, and the ability to effectively contribute to society.
The Milwaukee French Immersion School staff is dedicated to preparing the students to be effective members of the global society as it will exist in the 21st century. Immersion in the French language is the vehicle by which these goals are accomplished.
This is the second post about this school in NJ in the space of an hour by two different newbies. Same troll? Something in the water in that town?
(First thread got pulled.)
I'm a former linguist for our government and I applaud any effort to educate American kids in other cultures/languages, etc. It would also help them spell in the English language better as is evidenced by the missive. One of the major reasons that the US government constantly is reactive to foreign governments is because of an arrogant, "let them speak English" attitude, that serves us just as well as Marie Antoinette's famous, yet apocryphal remark.
Taxpayers already pay for the schools, including homeschoolers who do not use the facilities; hence your logic fails on that point.
Are you a public high school student?
"and that means anything?"
Actually, it does. It means you should read a bit here before posting silly vanity threads about your opinion of people other than yourself learning another language.
Again, I advise spending some time on English. Learn that one first and then you can move on to others.
There are always exceptions, of course. Immersion is the fastest way to learn a foreign language.
Aha! Well, I guess there's something in the air there in NJ that provokes newbies to post.
I had to learn proper English at *gasp* Public School.
