These questions are for Freepers who have some solid legal and/or medical knowledge but I think we should all be considering them:

If, somehow Jeb Bush was able to intervene, and take Terri into protective custody, and considering that at the moment she is in such a delicate state as to not be able to be safely moved to live with her family:

1. Would she be left at the same Hospice? If not, where would she go?

2. Would the state continue to pay for her? If not, who would be responsible for her medical care costs?

3. How much physical harm has her body suffered from the removal of the feeding tube and her starvation/dehydration at this point that probably cannot be corrected by feeding?

4. Would this affect her ability to be less of a candidate, or no change of her status for any rehabilitation (swallowing, etc.) than before they took out the feeding tube?

5. Would M Schiavo be able to fight for Terri again and regain custody?

6. What if all that happened, and he had the feeding tube taken out again , wouldn’t that be worse? I mean, Terri is not a pin cushion. I would hate to put her through all of this a second time.

I know these are terrible thoughts, but seriously, can Terri and her family bear to go through all of this over again? It seems the Courts are determined to be on Michael’s side no matter what, and he would probably be in charge again.

It is such a heartbreaking situation, and huge legal mess, would any intervention truly help her at this late date, or only make her suffering prolonged?

If we don't please God and follow His instructions, He is under no obligation to us to bestow blessings. When Israel (His chosen people) was rebellious, it was not spared; how much less will the United States be shown mercy-- despite what we might like to think?

Ultimately, God is not mocked. That means He is not mocked by George Greer, George Felos, Michael Schiavo, Michael's siblings, the Centonze family, Everett Rice, Jim King, the directors of this foul hospice, or anyone else involved. All the players here have free will, and they will answer for it at the bench which has but one counsel for the defense: Jesus Christ.

I am disappointed with Jeb Bush only so far as I am disappointed in anyone who appears less zealous than myself, but to be honest, I don't know what he knows, and he might be showing more courage than I would if I was in his place. I am sitting in my little room in Iowa, with the luxury of not having people live or die by my right or wrong opinions. But whatever the case, God is not mocked by those I mentioned, nor by me, Jeb Bush, or Randall Terry, or anyone on this forum. Vengeance there will be, though I don't know the who, what, when, where or how it will arrive. I personally think the outlook for improvement in our nation is bleak, and I think it prudent to prepare ourselves for the worst.

My prayers are for God's mercies to be on Terri (they are beyond my ability to comprehend in hard times, although Joseph was able to see God's ability to mean things for good even though humans mean it for evil). I also pray for the sincere repentance of those involved in denying Terri - and now the people of the United States - a fair, open and unbiased examination and assessment, free of handpicked opinions by (possibly qualified, but fallible) ideologues.

Any law that denies a woman a drink of water on her death bed is an immoral, illegal law and not binding.

Then you need to go down there and break it, and stop expecting someone else to do it for you. You need to go.

BTW, I just skimmed the thread and you seem to have mis-counted.

I'm not surprised. Ignoring fact seems to rule the day here now. A place that used to prize reasoned discourse.

Strangers would think the same of my husband then I guess. He does the checkbook and I clear every purchase through him. He's 6'4" and can be perceived as intimidating as well.

I think only MS and TS really truly know.

They are getting crapped on from all corners for trying to help in a thorny matter.

Yup. And this is how we teach politicians to behave like politicians. Do something, stand for something, and we'll abandon you. Hide and we'll reward you with another four or six years.

The Bushes are all Terri has right now. Keep praying for them to do the right thing.

I think it's getting a little too late now for those humans with the power to do anything.. (see "Terri Bleeding from Eyes and Mouth")

Not so. My love for President Bush is due to his strength of conviction due to his faith. And my loyalty to him is far below my loyalty to the Lord, and to my principles.......and has no effect on my ability to accept reality.

What I am saying is that there are Constitutional and legal experts who come down on both sides of this argument...........and one of the men I highly respect, Robert Bork, believes they have done all they can do legally.

I am neither a Constitutional scholar, nor a legal expert, but I am a Christian, and I have not stopped praying for this situation for more weeks (more than I have prayed for anything other than my son's safety when he was in Iraq).

I trust the Lord to answer prayer, and I know that millions pray for the President, and that the President himself prays for wisdom from God......and it is in God that I put my trust.

Unfortunately it's all too nice and neat, as you say. It's difficult for me to wrap my mind around how all this could happen.

There's no way a rational mind could wrap around what's happening.

See post # 626.

ChadBoy has been calling FReepers "hypocrite" at least five times today. The reason I mentioned Nancy 'Karla Marx' Pelosi was because, the Democrats, and especially Nancy (The Permanent Whinority Leader) are fond of casting aspersions without really describing their disagreement. Check out the posts of his today, you will see that I am correct.

As I said before, this Terri story has made us all a little crazy, so let's just pray that Terri is not in pain and forget all the rest of the foolishness.

OK?

And, God bless the innocent girl.

>>Jeb has not done everything possible<<<

I have been a big supporter of Terri's constitutional rights to live and to have due process.
My heart is breaking for the family.

However, the United States Congress, some of whom came back from vacation, passed a bill to help Terri. The President of the United States flew back to DC from Texas to sign it. This is the most powerful man in the world who has a war going on and many other big things to deal with.
Jeb Bush has been fighting his entire administration to save Terri's life and twice he has been successful at doing so.

However, all the courts have refused to over turn Greer.

Jeb Bush is not going to get into a big legal battle when he still has a couple years left as Governor. He has a state to run and that is why the people in Florida elected him.

I think the Schindlers need to get away from Randall Terry who is filling their heads with anger and hot rhetoric. Randall Terry IMO opinion is exploiting them and having them come out at press conferences to say angry things directed at Jeb Bush. I know these are Randall's words not the Terri's parents words..they are just hurt.

The Shindlers are religious people.
They need to be at peace with the fact that GOD has come to take Terri back home with him.
Her soul will be with GOD and her spirit will be with them.

They fought hard with a lot of love and support from people all over the world giving to them.
What a special person Terri was to generate such compassion from total strangers who felt like they were fighting for their own child's life right along with the Schindlers.
When Terri finally makes her journey home we will all feel the pain and shed a tear.

God Bless Terri
God Bless the Schindlers.

That needs to be bolded, if I may:
