There is credible evidence in the records to show she wanted to live - CREDIBLE evidence of Terri's wishes that the Judge ERRONEOUSLY ignored - and now he says it wouldn't have mattered anyway.

Evidence cannot get in the way of ego and saving face when you're on a power trip.

http://www.tampabays10.com/news/news.aspx?storyid=12420

"Clearwater, Florida - Judge George Greer admits there was an error in fact in the 2000 trial that established Terri Schiavo;s "right to die."

When a family friend claimed a 19-year-old Terri was upset that right to die icon Karen Ann Quinlan's parents removed her from life support, the Judge discounted the testimony, reportedly because the Judge said Quinlan died in 1976.

Quinlan was taken off life support in 1976, but died in 1985. A technical error, yes. But Wednesday afternoon, Judge Greer ruled it was not enough to affect the outcome of the 2000 lawsuit that held Terri would not want to be kept alive with severe brain damage."

This goes directly to the heart of his ruling on what Terri's wishes would be, which was one of the two bases that he made his ruling to remove the feeding tube. It is, in essence, new evidence - that of course he is ignoring.

First, in his opinion, Judge Greer based his determination that Terri would want to die in her current state on the testimony of 3 people, Michael and two of his family members.

He referred to the testimony regarding Terri's comments about Karen Ann Quinlan, but dismissed this testimony and found it not to be credible SOLELY on the grounds that he could not take seriously something Terri said when she was only a child, as he ASSUMED she made the statements in 1976. NOW, he is admitting that the reason for dismissing that testimony is no longer valid as Terri could have been 19, as her friend said, when she was heard making her statements on Quinlan.

So, since he stated no other reason for dismissing the testimony, he has to consider it valid, thus raising doubt about her wishes as there is now conflicting credible testimony in the records in regards to her wishes. And where there is doubt, one should err on the side of life.

But, as all other evidence that favors Terri, he ignores it. He royally screwed up on this, but he can't back down now and admit it.

Ok, so saying that about me is ok, even though it's patently false. But, if I say anythng unkind, I'm the bad guy.

re: requires a couple of miracles

Well I think that after all is said and done and all the facts come out in this matter it will be seen as a miracle that her husband could commit such a perfect murder and even get the judiciary to help him. That's miracle number one, how many more do we need now?

Where were you called those things? I wasn't there. Also, [I think] I know you, and know what's beneath your normally rational adult behavior.

All over pretty much any Shiavo thread. For such outrageous reasons as saying that Jeb isn't a bad guy and that he did all he could do within his power to save her. Ya know, really outrageous ofensive sick stuff like that.

I've actually been pretty rational throughout this thing, Petronski. Unfortunately, at FR emotion rules the day.

This is going to be hung around the deathacrats neck if we can just make sure that everyone knows how Terri begged for her life, Greer turned his back on her and the deathacrats stayed in hiding.

What is your definition of "vegetative"?

If it's easier to kill them than it is to keep them alive, they are now clinically "vegetative".

The is the decree of the right-to-die/hospice industry. It's been validated by the courts. And accepted by a clear majority of Americans.

God bless help America.

Of course we are on the same side, but there are others on our side that ARE radical - people who believe that the word of God justifies bombing abortion clinics and killing people - even people who are not th eintended targets
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I understand. These type of people are spread over every group in any society to one degree or another. Thankfully there are fewer in the USA then elsewhere on this planet.

The federal judge here in Tampa who was first to hear the case is a Clinton appointee. He is the one who chose to simply ignore the law that Congress had passed and treat the case like any other appeal, not like the new case that Congress had intended. And of course, he's perfectly within his rights to do so since Congress, probably in an attempt to be 'gentlemanly' used the word 'may' instead of the word shall and he conveniently decided that may also gave him the choice of 'may no' and that was his path. Legally according to the letter of the law. All nice and neat.

Dont' say that too loudly, thoug, or you'll be painted as a monster like me.

We're supposed to just shut our mouths, and allow those types of people to advocate violence in the name of OUR faith, and we're to just shut up and take it.

Did anyone have any doubts that Greer would be a sonovabitch to the end.

We live our lives one God given second at a time. Your seconds are ticking away too Judge. Any second you could be in Teri's place, depending upon some conscienceless b*st*rd just like yourself to spare your life.

Thanks for the great quote from St Peter:

ANd then there is the Clinton-appointed appeals judge here:

http://www.ca11.uscourts.gov/opinions/ops/200511556.pdf

who was on the side of life, and dissented when the other judges said "Don't put the tube back in."

I used to think that Chad's remark about the grilled cheese sandwich would have been beneath him, but---

after reading his posts for a second day, after being warned that poster's emotions are a little raw, Chad, you still insist on being rude and condescending (especially when you play the "Christian" card)

Petronski---it no longer is beneath him, I fear

Well, there's no constitutional right to not be offended by the words of others.

I don't recall citing you for being in violation of the Constitution.

Help me out here. We are waiting - or perhaps given up - for something to be done. One last intervention. This country is ours. WE THE PEOPLE. If we can intervene in other countries for their liberty why can't be intervene for one of our own?

It is US to do the something. WE are the intervention.

My thought is. fax (yeah, I know) George W and ask him to be our voice on TV and say what we feel - we are being overthrown by one judge - by refusing to give a citizen due process (on heresay), stripped of her liberty and justice -
and sentenced to a slow and unmerciful death.

The legal minds here can put the words together and send the petition around here and other conservative websites.

Any thoughts about this? Instead of waiting for someone else to do something, I started looking at myself - so I post this message.
