Now if only we could find some FReepers for Bush... ;)
You can count me as one.
Wow, your profile is a mini history lesson! I knew that the Shah was a monarch, but I had no idea that the pre-1979 status of Iran was that of an Empire. The beauty and splendour of pre-1979 Iranian society is quite stunning.
I'm one of those who for a couple of years has thought we wouldn't have to invade Iran. Each story like this builds that feeling. Years ago I knew an Iranian student who, while a liberal, had a very different take on Iran than American liberals do. Since knowing her I've thought American libs make the mistake of lumping Iranians in with all "those people" at their peril.
I think the libs are in a state of shock over the Middle East because they have to admit, if only to themselves, that they've been racists when it comes to individuating the peoples of the Middle East.
Where did that come from?
Because some people don't agree with him 100% of the time?
To get a President with whom I always agreed I'd have to run for Pres. - and win.
I wonder if they compared the result to the State Department
Employees. What percentage of State Department employees voted for Bush ?
Chill. Sarcasm is fun if you let it be.
I'm still wondering what percentage of cabinet members voted for him. ;)
Chill right back at you. I recognize sarcasm when I see it. Evidently you don't.
Lighten up, Francis.
Francis? Is that something else out of the 60s? Like chill?
You might get my vote. 8^)
No, I didn't fill me in on it you cool cat.
Thanks for your support Bill but I have to wait 16 more years.
"Lighten up, Francis" is a line from the movie. Go to the video store and rent the DVD. It is a damned funny movie.
Ukraine, Lebanon, Kyrgyztan... The Aayatollahs must be moving their luggage to their Dubai retreats even as we speak.
This is the one threat their freakin' bomb won't protect them against.
I might do that when I get my player repaired.
I'd have to agree. I think I just increased my knowledge of Iran 10 fold or more (I know its bad).
What struck me most was of the Rials? before 1000 equaled ~$14 but now equal ten cents. Also, I never knew that Iranians were so sympathetic after Sept 11, 2001.
May God free the poor Iranians.
